From what has already been shared fromGotham Knights, it is clear that the creation and selection of suit styles will be one of the game’s driving proponents. Many suits and their interchangeable transmog stats or variable cosmetic iteration have been depicted. This is fantastic for players in general who wish to adorn their Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, and Red Hood in different skins, and it makes a great impact onGotham Knights’ online co-opsince players can differentiate their characters from other players’ characters.
Thanks to the transmog feature, players will be able to assign a costume’s stats to another costume’s look if they are displeased with its current appearance. These skins are also represented in cinematic cutscenes, but it appears as though there may be one significant inconsistency in cosmetics thatGotham Knightshas not yet addressed. Many cosmetics drastically change the appearances ofGotham Knights’ playable protagonists, but it is uncertain whether their more distinguishable traits will carry over into the characters’ ordinary attire while in the Belfry during the day.

Cosmetics in Gotham Knights Introduce New Hairstyles
Gotham Knights’ suit stylesboast an incredibly eclectic catalog that takes inspiration from multiple source materials as well as a lot of originality in design. But while suits themselves are starkly different from one another, there are many that also change the character’s hairstyle when that particular suit is worn.
For example, Robin and Nightwing have distinct close-shaved hairstyles in the Neon Noir suit style, while Batgirl and Nightwing have lengthy ponytail hairstyles in the Shinobi suit style. Nightwing’s Year One suit style appearance has shaggy, medium-length hair, but it has also been discerned that there are different variations of each suit style that change a component or two of its base model, as seen inGotham Knights’ reveal of 28 skins.
Changes in hairstyle may seem insignificant to some, but it grants fantastic personalization and customization that fans can relate to more than a simple clothing switch may be able to. Hairstyles are a welcome change and only a few of these characters are able to see such a drastic aesthetic change. The only character not affected at all by this aesthetic swap seems to be Jason Todd’s Red Hood, whose cosmetics entirely cover his head in a helmet. That may be for the best, since there is a potential that suit style selections may not be wholly represented throughout the game.

Cosmetic Hairstyles May Not Be Represented in the Belfry
Indeed, all footage from withinGotham Knights’ Belfryshows each Knight with the hairstyles that they have on their default appearances. The implication made here is that suit style hairstyles will not be represented betweenGotham Knights’open-world Gotham City and Belfry sequences.
This will undoubtedly create some continuity discrepancies and disrupt any immersion players had wanted with their chosen suit styles throughoutGotham Knights. Some fans may not even consider this to be that detrimental to their overall experience with the game, but due to how often it looks like players visit the Belfry, it is certain to be a visual nuisance to others.
Of course, it technically has not been confirmed that these hairstyles will not be represented inGotham Knights’ Belfry, as all the Belfry footage shown could have been presented with the characters’ default skins. That is highly unlikely, though, and means that players should not be alarmed if suddenly their Dick Grayson appears in the Belfry with medium-length bangs when he had a striking ponytail seconds before, and vice versa when players depart from the Belfry.
Gotham Knightsis set to release on July 08, 2025, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
