Ever since its release back in November of 2014, 343 Industries has continued to update and improveHalo: The Master Chief Collection. However, it was recently confirmed that 343 Industries will be working on adding a new element to the game that longtimeHalofans have been requesting for quite a while.
Halois an unequivocal mainstay of the gaming community. It is easily one of the most influential and long-lasting gaming franchises of all time. Since taking over ownership of theHalofranchise from Bungie, 343 Industries has been in charge of the continued development of newHalogames, withHalo: The Master Chief Collectionbeing one of them. Since its release, 343 Industries continues to add additional content and features toThe Master Chief Collection, but today announced that it will be bringing back the original sound effects ofHalo: Combat Evolved.
The classic sound design of the originalHalo: Combat Evolvedis a point of nostalgia for many longtime fans of the series. However, when 343 went back and remadeCombat EvolvedforThe Master Chief Collection, the company revamped the sound design. Now that fans have made their requests known, 343 has confirmed that the development team will go back and add an option that allows players to hear the sound design of the original game while playing through the campaign. This option will also be included for therecently released PC version of the gameas well.
With so much disparity between what the gaming community wants and what the gaming industry thinks the community wants, it’s nice to see a studio that not only actively listens, but also delivers. Not to mention the large scope of additional content that 343 Industries continues to release for a game that has existed for six years. Just last month, the studio addeda new freeze tag modefor multiplayer.
However, with all of this being said, it’s hard to predict what the future of theHalofranchise will be.Halo Infinitewas announced back in 2018 and there is still so much that the gaming community does not know about in this game. It’s possible that more details regarding the game will be revealed at E3 2020, but for now, fans will just have to wait to find out.
Halo: The Master Chief Collectionis available now on PC and Xbox One.
