Now that a majority of fans have binged all eight episodes of the series, many are eagerly awaiting news of the upcoming season. Henry Cavill is ready to provide the scoop as his Instagram has just confirmed preproduction is starting very soon.
In an Instagram post late Friday afternoon, Cavill is seen walking his dog through the streets basking in the joy of the recent holidays and joking about how he may have enjoyed them “too much.” It should be mentioned that Cavill’s appearance looks nothing short of incredibly healthy, but the actor seemed to be prepared for a more strenuous workout in the coming months to maintain his Witcher physique. Cavill goes on to mention that he was looking forward to jumping into preproduction for thealready confirmed season two ofThe Witcherin the coming days. This means that filming on season two will start very soon, and possibly within the next few months.

Many fans have wonderedwhy the first season ofThe Witcheronly had eight episodes, to which showrunner Lauren Hissrich has confirmed it was a delicately planned system to work with their budget as well as their audiences' attention. Much of season one was pulled from stories from the first bookThe Witcher: The Last Wishwritten by Andrzej Sapkowski. There is hope that the coming season will breach into any of the eight total books but also means there is plenty of source materials yet to cover.
Hissrich has confirmed that season 2 ofThe Witcherwill follow a more linear timeline than that of season 1. Hissrich acknowledges that many fans were confused by when and where things were happening in the first season, but promises thatthe second will be much easier to follownow that the main characters are all together.
The official Instagram for Netflix joined in the Cavill celebration and posted three applause emojis, to which a slew of fans have responded to. Many are innocuous comments about other programs but there are also quite a few begging the digital media giant to release the soundtrack, as most fans can not getthe “Toss a Coin” tune out of their heads. Whether or not the series will release the soundtrack is yet to be seen, but it is clear that staying tuned to Henry Cavill’s Instagram will give fans more clues as to what season 2 might bring.
