It’s expected that Capcom will be sharing a new trailer as well as gameplay and walkthrough footage forResident Evil 8, but it will also be unveiling some extra news for the overall franchise. The industry is currently experiencing a golden age of horror gaming and withResident Evil 7having showntheResident Evilseries is nowhere near finished, this next chapter is shaping up to be one of the current generation’s most anticipated games. It’s impressive that the much-loved franchise has managed to sustain such a high profile for two and a half decades. Older gamers may remember the early days of B-movie script writing, amusingly poor voice acting, and the terror felt when encountering that first zombie.
Resident Evil 8(also known asResident Evil: Village) is set a few years after the events of the previous game and players will encounter a slew of new supernatural beasts, includinggrotesque lizards and werewolves. Some may feel these monsters are a far cry from the franchise’s original monstrosities, but a drastic change in style and creature encounters is exactly what breathed new life into a series that has stood the test of time. As of now, all fans can do is wait for the showcase next week to see what surprises are unleashed.
Resident Evil 8is set to launch in 2021 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
