What Do Focus Potions Do?
Focus Potions grant a temporary buff when drank that drastically decreases the cooldown time of spells. With this buff active, it’s possible to forgo basic casts entirely in favor ofslinging powerful, damaging spells like Diffindo, Confringo, and Bombarda instead. By default, Focus Potions last 15 seconds, more than enough time to send a barrage of powerful spells toward enemies.
Where Is the Focus Potion Recipe?
If players want to obtain the recipe for Focus Potions, they’ll need to make their way to Hogsmeade and find J. Pippin’s Potions. This is the only store in the game that sells potions recipes, and the Focus Potion Recipe, in particular, will cost 1,200 Galleons. Though this is expensive, this powerful potion is well worth the hefty price tag. J Pippin’s Potions is unlocked after the player’sfirst visit to Hogsmeade with Sebastian or Natty.
How to Make Focus Potions
Focus Potions have three ingredients, all of which must be brought to a Potions Station to brew the potion. Potions Stations can be found in either the Potions Classroom or the Room of Requirement if players conjure up the right spellcraft, but the ingredients are a bit more difficult. The three ingredients players will need are Lacewing Flies, Fluxweed Stem, and Dugbog Tongues.
Getting the Most Out of Focus Potions
After seeing how effective Focus Potions are, it may be hard to believe that there is actually a way to enhance them even further. After unlocking Talent Points by progressing through the main story and leveling up a bit, players can spend them on a particular talent that boosts Focus Potions.
