The recently releasedAnimal Crossing: New Horizonshas players developing their very own deserted island into a proper home. However, players are also free to use theDodo flying servicesto visit mysterious islands, where they will often find new residents to invite to their island as well as additional resources. Sometimes players will wind up on a tarantula-infested island that fans have dubbed the “Spider Island,” but as it turns out, it’s possible to transform any island into a Spider Island.
Twitter user Zach Soares has revealed how to turn anyAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsisland into a so-called Spider Island. Basically,Animal Crossing: New Horizonsplayers that want to have a Spider Island of their own needs to ruin the island by robbing it of almost all of its resources.

More specifically,Animal Crossing: New Horizonsplayers will need to chop down all of the trees on the island thendig up the stumps using a shovel. They will also need to pick all the flowers, remove all the rocks, litter the beach with junk, and catch other types of bugs. Then if they wait until night time, spiders should spawn endlessly.
While doing things like destroying rocks (Animal Crossing: New Horizonsplayers will need to eat fruitif they want to do that) and chopping down all the trees seems counterproductive, there’s a good reason to do this. Spiders are worth a ton of money inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, so players can collect a bunch of them and sell them to the Nook family for a big cash payout. This in turn will allow players to pay off their debts in the game significantly faster. In short, they could use the Spider Island trick to get rich quick.
There are many other methods thatAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsplayers are using to get rich quick in the game. One of the most controversial methods toget rich inNew Horizonsis time-traveling. Like pastAnimal Crossinggames, players can manipulate the system time on their Switch console to bypass the game’s real-time restrictions. This in turn allows players to harvest fruit and other resources infinitely.
Another trick thatAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsplayers are using is the item duplication glitch. But where theitem duplication glitchwill likely get patched out at some point in the future, it seems the Spider Island trick will be here to stay, as it appears to be in the game by design.
Animal Crossing: New Horizonsis out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
