Since its release in June 2023,Diablo 4has experienced turbulent times, with its share of controversial updates, hit-or-miss seasonal content, and several player concerns over itemizations and progress.
However,Diablo 4’s upcoming Season 4 looks to be one of the game’s best, thanks to multiple new and reworked systems. Players also have the chance to try it early, thanks to the upcoming Public Test Realm (PTR). If you are interested in getting onto the PTR and checking out the new content, here is how you can do it. Keep in mind that since Season 4 is on the PTR, everything is subject to change.
Diablo 4: How to Join the PTR
To join the PTR, you need to follow these simple steps:
Once these steps are completed, players can dive into the PTR and get testing. Players can use the “Report a Bug” option in the in-game menu or visit theDiablo 4forumsto provide feedback.
Due to the PTR and allowing the developers time to take on and implement feedback, the release date ofSeason 4 has been pushed back, so players will have more time to finish their Season of the Construct Battle Pass.
How Long Is The Diablo 4 PTR Available?
TheDiablo 4PTR runs from April 2 to June 24, 2025, after which players will no longer be able to participate.
During the PTR, players will get the chance to experience all the reworked systems and features coming in Season 4, namely loot and crafting, both of which will see major overhauls. This includes the new Tempering feature, allowing players to add their own affixes to gear, Masterworking to upgrade affixes, changes to the Codex of Power, Helltide reworks and additions, and a heap of QoL changes.Blizzard has released the PTR patch notescontaining more details on what players can expect.
Are There Any Restrictions to the Diablo 4 PTR?
While accessing the PTR is straightforward, players should be aware that the PTR is for PC users only, and it will be available to play through the Battle.net launcher and players using the PC Xbox Game Pass, asthey are required to use Battle.net to play.
Aside from this, the PTR will have no other restrictions. In fact, players won’t even need to play through from level 1 if they choose not to, as there will be an NPC in Kyovashad named PTR boost. This NPC can set your character’s level to 100 and give you the following items and unlocks.
You will also be able to trade between characters, and regardless of the boos, all legendary drop rates will be doubled during the PTR.
That’s everything you need to know to participate inDiablo 4’s PTR and play Season 4 early. With all the changes coming to the game and the chance for players to offer feedback before release, this is hopefully the start of a bright future for the ARPG, leading up toits first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, releasing later this year.
