Doom Eternalfelt like it was missing something from the beginning. Where was the pistol? Thepistol was cut fromDOOM Eternalbefore release, and a lot of players missed having one available to them. But it looks like the data for the pistol ended up in the final cut of the game, so PC players can actually get it and use it.
The Pistol
SeveralDOOMgames have had pistols; even the lastDOOM, released in 2016 had one. So loads of fans had pistol-sized holes in their hearts, and were psyched to hear that it actually was possible to play with it, even after it had been scrapped.

The pistol had both single-shot and burst-shot modes, which makes it appealing to different types of players. It was originally removed from the game because ID thought the gun didn’t mesh with the combat flow of the rest of the game. The pistol isn’t the strongest weapon in the game, certainly not strong enough tokill Marauders inDOOM Eternal.
How to Do It
Like most mods, including theAnimal Crossing/DOOM 2crossover mod, players will have to haveDOOM Eternalfor PC. Twitter user Dave Oshry, who is a senior director at RocketWerkz, tweeted that he used a command in the dev console to be able to play with the pistol. To get it, players will have to download Cheat Engine on their PC. Then, they will have to download the associated file forDOOM Eternal.
While players are waiting for those to dowload, they can check outDOOM 1andDOOM 2, which are both hidden inDOOM Eternal.Once those are both downloaded, players will have to open upDOOM Eternal, then open the associatedDOOM Eternalfile in Cheat Engine. ClickSelect Process to Openin Cheat Engine, and selectDOOM Eternal. Click the box to the left of the purple text that ends in ‘release-pc-hotfix2.' It will open a sub menu and cross the boxes next to both the console command and the noclip command.
Hop back intoDOOM Eternal, hit the Tilde button to open the dev console. In the console, typegive weapon/player/pistol, and then hit enter. The pistol should spawn in the Doom Slayer’s hands. It’s certainly not thebest or worst weapon inDOOM Eternalbut it certainly is fun to play with.
