YouTubepersonalities and former friends David Dobrik and Jeff Wittek have been in the news many times in the past year. It seems Jeff Wittek has had enough and is threatening to sue following David’s apology for the accident that occurred in 2021.
David Dobrik and Jeff Wittek used to be friends and filmYouTubevideos together as part of a group called the Vlog Squad. In 2021, Wittek was the victim of a stunt gone wrong that almost cost him his eye and gave him some brain injuries. Dobrik reportedly apologized for everything that has happened up to this point, saying he would “do anything” to resolve the issues. Wittek officially ended their friendship on February 24th following all the controversy around the accident.

In a video version of Wittek’s Jeff FM Podcast, he has responded to Dobrik’s apology in his own podcast VIEWS from the previous day. In this clip of the Jeff FM podcast, Wittek calls out Dobrik and his co-host Jason Nash for being “liars” and treating the whole Vlog Squad as “pawns.” By the end of the podcast episode, Wittek hints at taking legal action by saying “Let’s just let the courts decide and you’ll have to sign a paper that says, ‘Yeah, this was a lie, and I’m guilty of this and that,’ and we can go that route about it. Because let’s be honest, I get no points for beating you up. It just sucks how badly you fumbled this.” The full video of Wittek’s Jeff FM podcast can be seenhere.
Dobrik has really been in the hot seat during the last couple of years, with allegations about sexually inappropriate behavior, fostering a toxic work environment, and this incident being some of the biggest stories. Dobrik’s apology videos have become so notorious in the past that evenSaturday Night Liveparodied them.Wittek has repeatedly called Dobrik out on his apologies and comments on the incident which only continues to make any word out of Dobirk’s mouth sound illegitimate.
It’s not surprising at this point that Wittek would be threatening legal action at this point in the situation. This back and forth is starting to feel like nothing will be resolved until someone outside of the conflict comes in and helps bring the truth out, whether in Wittek’s favor or not. Other YouTubers likePewdiepie have weighed in on the previous controversies, but there is more to be done here.
Some might argue that one over the other is right in this situation, but the truth of the matter is: a serious accident happened, and the blame is being thrown around.Dobrikdoes make his apology sound convincing enough but hearing Wittek’s side as someone who claims to know Dobrik very well counteracting can feel confusing. That being said, something does need to be done about this situation, and it’s unclear whether going to court will finally resolve this.
