One of the most prolific Nintendo franchises in history isKirby, with the franchise getting a new entry almost every single year since it debuted in 1992. The latestKirbygame isKirby and the Forgotten Land, aNintendo Switch exclusivethat’s set to take the series in some bold new directions, abandoning its side-scrolling roots in favor of being a full-fledged 3D platformer.

Nintendo has beenhypingKirby and the Forgotten Landby releasing gameplay trailers and screenshots, highlighting what fans can expect from the game once its release date rolls around at the end of March. The latest batch ofKirby and the Forgotten Landscreenshots released by Nintendo take a look at two of the game’s boss fights, showing off the intimidating enemies that players will have to contend with at launch.

The two boss fights shown in the screenshots are enemies that have been featured prominently inKirby and the Forgotten Landtrailers. The first is the “Unfriendly Fronds” Tropic Woods, which is a tropical twist on Whispy Woods, a recurring boss that has appeared in numerousKirbyvideo games over the years. The screenshot shows Tropic Woods using its roots to cage Kirby in, while the pink fluff ball tries to fight back using Fire attacks.

The other boss seen in the latestKirby and the Forgotten Landscreenshots is the “Strong-Armed Beast” Gorimondo. Gorimondo is a massive gorilla with a white mohawk that will try to take out Kirby with a spin attack. One screenshot of Gorimondo not only shows his spin attack in action, but it also showsKirby and the Forgotten Land’s co-op gameplay, with Kirby and Bandana Waddle Dee joining forces to take down Gorimondo.

These boss fight screenshots are just the latest batch of images that Nintendo has released forKirby and the Forgotten Landin the past few weeks. It’s also released screenshots that give fans an even closer look at its co-op mode, not to mention some that show offKirby’s copy abilitiesin the new game. It’s quite likely that fans are in store for even more screenshots as we get closer to the game’s release.

Expectations are high forKirby and the Forgotten Land, and while it’s certainly a risk to make such drastic changes to the established formula, it certainly seems as though the game is on the right track. Fans will find out ifKirby and the Forgotten Landlives up to the hype when it launches at the end of March.
