Summary

The well-known leaker Midori has shared some new information regarding the impending release ofVisions of Mana, the upcoming action-RPG from the famed Japanese publisherSquare Enix. The next main installment in theManafranchise only got an official reveal a few months ago, but with its release window gradually edging closer, it seems like fans of the series won’t have to wait too long to get new updates on the game directly fromSquare Enix.

Its existence having first been teased in 2021, Visions of Manawas formally unveiled at The Game Awards 2023. Theupcoming role-playing game, which is being developed by NetEase subsidiary Ouka Studios, is the first mainline entry in the cult-classicManaseries since 2006’s PS2-exclusiveDawn of Mana. Fans of the JRPG franchise have been treated to a number of remakes, spin-offs, and mobile games in recent years, butVisions of Manais shaping up to be the series’s most notable release in the last decade. That being said, Square Enix has been silent on the title for a few months, but if one report is to be believed, it looks like this may change in the near future.

According to a recent post from the Twitter user Midori, “new information forVisions of Manawill be revealed soon.” Elaborating on this, the insider stated that this update will provide a release date and other details about the upcoming title. Given thatSummer Game Fest 2024and the Xbox Games Showcase are just around the corner, Midori’s claims make a lot of sense. After all, Square Enix itself said thatVisions of Manais scheduled to release sometime during summer 2024, so unless the title gets abruptly delayed, it’ll have to get dated sooner rather than later.

Midori wasn’t done sharing information just yet, though, as another tweet she made alleges thatVisions of Manawill be released on the Nintendo Switch 2. Currently, the title is only slated for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles, but a potential Switch 2 port wouldn’t be that surprising, sinceSquare Enix recently revealed its plans to aggressively pursue a multiplatform strategy. That being said, fans shouldn’t expectVisions of Manato show up at the upcoming June Nintendo Direct, as Nintendo already confirmed that its next presentation will only focus on games set to release on the current Switch.

Visions of Mana Will Likely Make an Appearance at One of the Upcoming Summer Showcases

Due to a Nintendo Direct appearance being unlikely,Visions of Manawill probably show up at one of the other two upcoming showcases instead. The game could pop up at Geoff Keighley’s annual June gaming event, but since Square Enix isn’t one ofthe 55+ companies confirmed to be at Summer Game Fest, it might not show up there. As such, it seems most likely thatVisions of Manawill appear at the Xbox Games Showcase instead. The title’s last appearance was at an Xbox Developer_Direct, so it makes sense thatSquare Enixwould show it off at a Microsoft event again.
