There’s a wide variety of weapons inLies of P,and not all of them are made equal. Some are great right out of the box, while others may need some tweaking before their true potential starts to shine. Sorting which weapons are good or bad can be a bit confusing, but it’s nothing that a little research can’t fix.
The following is a list of the best weapons in the first three chapters ofLies of P. Instead of solely picking whatever deals more damage or which scales best with what stat, this selection was made with the weapons' movesets and unique strengths in mind. Give each of them a try, and don’t forget: weapon scaling can be altered by visiting Eugenie at Hotel Krat.
Puppet Saber
Before going into detail about this, it’s important to keep in mind thatall three starting weapons are completely viable. There are no bad options between the saber, the rapier, and the greatsword. However, the Puppet Saber has two things going for it that make it the best one to use for players who are new to the genre.
First, the Puppet Saber has C scalings for both Motivity and Technique, making it great for players who want to make quality builds that make use of both stats evenly. Second, the saber’s handle has the Concentrate Fable Art, which increases the weapon’s damage for a short time at the cost of just one Fable bar.
On top of these, the Pupper Saber is also very versatile with its moveset and damage output. It swings wide enough to hit multiple enemieswithout bumping into walls, and it attacks relatively quickly compared to most other one-handed weapons in the game.
Electric Coil Stick
The Electric Coil Stick is one of the first elemental weapons players can get in the game, and it’s specifically designed to dispatch puppets and other robotic targets. It deals mostly blunt damage with a splash of electricity with each swing, but if players activate the Electric Coil Stick Head’s Fable Art, the weapon’s elemental damage increases significantly.
Once players unlock the ability to assemble weapons, they can combine the Electric Coil Stick Head with the Puppet Saber Handle to fashion a weapon that can give itself windows of opportunity where it can deal massive damage per hit. This weapon issold by the Wandering Merchanton Elysion Boulevard.
Booster Glaive
As a Technique-based heavy weapon, the Booster Glaive is capable of one-shotting weak targets while providing players with high mobility thanks to its rocket-powered handle. Upon releasing a fully-charged heavy attack, the weapon will launch players toward their target, closing gaps in an instant.
The Booster Glaive Blade’s Fable Art also sends players flying forward, providing one more mobility option. Meanwhile, the handle’s special skill locks players in place while charging up a heavy attack that can deal very high damage in a single strike. This weapon istucked away inside the chestin the Puppet of the Future’s pit in Venigni Works.
Salamander Dagger
Similar to the Electric Coil Stick, the Salamander Dagger’s strength lies in its ability to deal elemental damage. If it lands enough hits, this knife will ignite enemies, dealing damage over time. The Salamander Dagger is especially strong against monsters like the ones found in the St. Frangelico Cathedral.
This weapon attacks quickly but suffers from its lack of reach. Players can remedy this by attaching the blade to a longer handle, though doing so will change the weapon’s moveset. The Salamander Dagger is found in the small room above the Stargazer at the Venigni Workshop Union Entrance.
Holy Sword of the Ark
After speaking with Alidoro in the St. Frangelico Cathedral, players will be able to buy the Holy Sword of the Ark by exchanging the Ergodropped by King’s Flame Fuoco. This is one of the two special greatswords available at this point of the game, and it can only be purchased if players did not consume Fuoco’s Ergo.
The Holy Sword of the Ark is a versatile greatsword that can be extended for better crowd control. By default, it does diagonal light attacks and vertical heavy attacks. When extended by its handle’s Fable Art, the sword adopts horizontal attacks that are great for hitting multiple enemies at once. The Blade Fable Art also transforms from a lengthy Patient Smash to a flurry of blows.
