Despite how absurdly good high attack speed weapons seem to be inLies of P, there actually aren’t that many daggers in the game. Well, at least there aren’t when the number’s compared to the other 4 weapon categories such as swords, greatswords, blunt weapons, and large blunt weapons.

However, with the good chunk of daggers that are available inLies of P, players can breeze through the game if they use the right blade, handle, or any combination in between. So, let’s go over all the daggers the game offers, pick the best ones, and speak a bit about what exactly makes each one so worth using.

Up first and in last place is the Master Chef’s Knife. This weapon can be found near the Krat Central Station Platform near the end of the game and is really only at the bottom here for one reason, all the other options are better. The Master Chef blade and handle aren’t bad by any means, and it’s very visually appealing to be running around with a big cleaver. But, every other dagger is just better than the Chef’s Knife.
The handle is by far the most valuable part of this weapon, as with a longer blade the horrible reach of this weapon increases by leaps and bounds. Add that together with the Furious Slash Fable Art the handle comes with and there’s actually a lot of potential here if players are willing to put the work in.

Moving on to the first dagger on here that has some innate critical chance, it’s the Pistol Rock Drill. This weapon takes a while for players to obtain in-game as they need to give Pulcinella (Venigni’s Puppet Butler Merchant) the Fancy Venigni Collection so they’ll sell the Rock Drill. However, once players do buy it from Pulcinella (not Polendina, the other Hotel Krat Puppet Merchant), they’ll have quite the weapon on their hands.

The blade’s scaling is a bit odd given that it’s moreMotivity-based for Strength buildsthan Technique-based for Dexterity builds, but that can be adjusted easily with a Technique Crank. Additionally, the Grind Fable Art it comes with is incredibly useful. After using Grind, the player’s crit chance rises even more temporarily (from 30 to 60 percent). Combine this handle with the right blade, and players can dish out greatsword levels of damage with dagger levels of speed, which is pretty overpowered.

The Salamander Dagger is square in the middle here for two reasons. One, it’s another weapon that can be obtained pretty early, allowing players to have access to it for the majority of the game. Two, it’s one of the rare few innately elemental blades that are so highly sought after by Advance builds.
But it’s not just the blade, the handle is actually the best aspect of this weapon, as its moveset is just so good. Fast swings, good damage, and a charge attack that feels faster than any other weapon in the game. Anyone who has put a good chunk of time intoLies of Pis probably more than aware of how useful a fast charge attack is, so the Salamander Dagger absolutely earns its spot here.

Sadly, Acid weapons don’t really become all that necessary until at least the second half ofLies of P(outside ofmaybe the Mad Donkey fight). Up until this point, it’s really just a lot of Carcass and Puppet enemies. However,once human enemies become more prevalent, players are only going to have a few options for consistent Acid damage, with the Acidic Crystal Spear being the best choice.

The blade is good on just about any handle (preferably a Slashing handle) as its Radiate Fable Art means the Acid damage comes with the blade. Meanwhile, the handle has the well-liked Single Stab Fable Art and is one of the few A-Rank Advance Scaling handles in the game. In particular, fans seem to be very fond of throwing the Salamander Dagger blade on the Acidic Crystal Spear handle, or vice versa.

Moving on to second place, the Tyrant Murderer’s Dagger is basically just a better version of the Pistol Rock Drill, albeit with a bit less range. Because the blade is the one holding that 30 percent crit chance, players can put this blade on anything, use its Grind Fable Art to increase the crit chance even further, and then use the Critical Special Gridstone to bump their critical chance all the way up to around 90 percent for a short duration. Pair this with the blade’s good scaling, the handle’s great moveset, and the usefulness of fast weapons overall, and it’s no wonder this thing is among the best of the best.
And last up, surprising no one, the first-place dagger inLies of Pis a boss weapon. This ‘dagger’ umbrella is made from the Broken Hero’s Ergo (AKA the Scrapped Watchman) and obtained from Alidoro the Treasure Hunter. The reason this literal umbrella is first is simple, it’s the best of all worlds.
It has fantastic damage,lightning-fast Stab Attack Type attacks, innate A-level Technique scaling, and the Absolute Counterattack Fable Art which allows it to even counterattack after a successful guard, unlike the Absolute Guard Fable Art. Plus, on top of all this, the weapon even auto-blocks whenever the parasol is actually open during an attack animation. It’s no wonder this weapon is so popular, even among the people not pretending to be ‘posh gentlemen’ when using it.
