Detailed on the official Nintendo website,Mario Golf: Super Rushis confirmed to have a total of 16 original characters, with a customizable Mii avatar adding a 17th option. The golfers are the usual suspects of most Mario titles, consisting of Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, and Bowser. There are a few interesting choices when it comes to the second half of the roster, however. Filling out the remainder of the ranks are Bowser Jr., Boo, Rosalina, Pauline, Toad, Chargin' Chuck (the football player Koopa), andthe often-rumored King Bob-Omb. Although a less expansive list than itsMario Tennis Acescolleague, Nintendo will likely add new faces as post-launch content.
Nintendo’s website gives fans a birds-eye view ofMario Golf: Super Rush’s various courses. There is a quintessential-looking beginner course, aptly named “Rookie Course,” along with Bonny Greens, both of which appear to take place in the same region. Ridgerock Lake looks to slightly crank up the difficulty, featuring steep cliffs and strong winds. Balmy Dunes will take players to the desert, filled with sandy dunes and rocky mountains. Wildweather Woods should prove challenging, with adverse weather conditions appearing to be a constant. While there are only five courses listed so far,Mario Golf: Super Rush’s gameplay trailershows a course with lava, meaning players will likely have more courses to unlock.

Looking at the content roadmap for the lastMariosports title, the big N will most likely add additional characters to the game incrementally post-launch. The same can be said for the golf courses. While the site only reveals five courses, the trailers reveal there are additional areas in the game. Also, the website’s verbiage specifically says “here are some” of the courses, all but confirming more courses will be available.
