A tweet from the official @PlayAvengers page announced today that players have until August 11, 2025, to pick up a free digital package that includes in-game currency. There are multiple kinds ofcurrency and upgrades inMarvel’s Avengers, so the specifics certainly matter as to what is inside this free bonus. Players will receive 1,500 Credits, 7,000 Units, 250 Upgrade Modules, and 20 DNA Keys.

The digital package can, of course, be used however the player wants, but one idea would be to use this bonus and turn it into legendary gear, which is exactly what Crystal Dynamics suggests. According to the tweet, these free goodies are enough to get a Legendary outfit orupgrade gear inMarvel’s Avengers. The free bonus will also come with a Sarah Garza inspired Nameplate, according to a follow-up tweet, but it will not appear in player’s inventory until next week.
One of theissues withMarvel’s Avengersis its replay value, or lack thereof. The multiplayer is a bit lackluster and the game can get repetitive. The hope, likely, is that free giveaways like this drive the player base back to the game. Games of service style games, likeMarvel’s Avengers, base a lot of success off of a certain gameplay loop. So if players can come back to the game with the free currency and get sucked into that loop, then the giveaway is a giant win for Crystal Dynamics.
