Marvel’s Spider-Man 2has become one of the most anticipated superhero games after the trailer showcased the villains that Miles Morales and Peter Parker will be going up against. From the trailer, fans got to see the two Spider-Man fight together as Kraven speaks about finding a worthy adversary for him to fight, only for fans to see Venom respond to his challenge. Many fans hope thatMarvel’s Spider-Man 2will feature a playable Symbiote, either as Venom himself or as Spider-Man merged wearing the Symbiote suit.
Spider-Man and Venom have always been rivals across multiple storylines and events that take place in comics, shows, and movies. As one of the most famousmembers of Spider-Man’s rogues' gallery, Venom has become a fan favorite, so many are hoping that they get to experience the Symbiote in action as he finds his way into New York City. With the way the trailer has set up the upcoming game, there are two routes that the game can take: either Venom is already a known villain, or the Symbiote has recently arrived at Earth and could take over Spider-Man’s body.

Spider-Man’s Venom Suit
One of Spider-Man’s greatest adversaries has always been the Symbiote that threatens his friends and family, Venom. However, there are many instances where Peter Parker gets the Venom Symbiote. During Venom’s origin story, Peter Parker wasinfected with the Venom Symbiote, giving him enhanced abilities, but the Symbiote wanted to remain permanently attached to Peter and take over his body. While he did finally get the Symbiote off, it is something that the comic writers have used repeatedly to push Peter over the edge.
While merged with the Venom Symbiote, Spider-Man gains enhanced strength and speed, stronger webbing that does not require shooters, increased healing factor, and the ability to disguise the suit as clothing. These powers have attracted Peter to the Symbiote before, and he has been forced to use it on many occasions to take out some of his most powerful villains, such as Carnage and The Red Goblin. However,it would also be interesting to see Miles Morales get overtakenby the Venom suit and Peter striving to get the Symbiote off his protege.
Miles Fights Peter
Whether Peter or Miles gets the Venom Symbiote, the other is sure to fight him and attempt to remove the Symbiote from Spider-Man’s body. This fight would bevery enjoyable as the two Spider-Men have been working together for a while now, so they would know the other’s strengths and weaknesses. Further, having players fight off a Spider-Man using the Venom Suit could showcase the true power that the Symbiote possesses and could be handled as a last-ditch effort by Spider-Man to stop one of the villains he will be facing inSpider-Man 2.
A fight between Peter and Miles would be fascinating, and with the way that Miles' character has been developed over the last two games, it stands to reason that he will not be the one overtaken by the Venom Symbiote. Instead, having him fight off his mentor would be a great way to instill some confidence in his own abilities and can give players more of an insight into his mind and emotions. On the other hand, after the loss of Aunt May, Peter may voluntarily merge himself with the Symbiote toprotect MJ from one of his villainsor could even foreshadow her death.

Venom as a Playable Character
Following the release ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2trailer, there has been a lot of speculation in regard to the extent of Venom’s involvement in the upcoming game. Since fans only got a glimpse of the Symbiote, it seems as if he will either be the main villain of the game, or one of Spider-Man’s allies that decides to fight off Kraven, who will likely attempt to hunt down Venom as well. So, there is a possibility thatfans will get a chance to play as Venom, just like in 2005’sUltimate Spider-Mangame, and try to fight off Kraven, or even team up with Spider-Man to defeat the villain.
While nothing has been confirmed, many fans are hopeful that Venom will be a playable character in the game, especially due to how he has been portrayed in recent films. Venom will probably not be one of the main characters if this is the case, and fans will probably only get a mission or two to swing around as the Symbiote. However,allowing players to explore New York City as Venom, and having certain side missions and crimes that only Venom can respond to could give players more insight into the game’s version of Venom and his true intentions towards Spider-Man and Kraven.
Thanks to all the possibilities available forMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, fans will eagerly wait to see how the Venom Symbiote is handled in the game. Whether it will be merged with Peter or Miles, or Venom will be a playable character, fans are extremely hopeful that they will be able to play as the Symbiote at some point in the game.With Kraven The Hunter setting up the challenge, and all three characters stepping up to the plate, fans may get the chance to play as both the Spider-Men along with Venom on their mission to take out Kraven and save New York City.
