TheMetal Gear Solidseries is packed with memorable characters brought to life by talented people. This includes Quiet fromMetal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, and now Quiet actress Stefanie Joosten is taking the lead as creative director of a new mech combat game currently titledVengeance is Mine.

Joosten, who was almost cast as FragileinDeath Stranding, announced the new game recently through a short video posted to her Twitter. There, she briefly introducedVengeance is Mine, which she described as a game that blends genres and themes in unexpected ways and innovates on industry standards as gamers know them.

According to the official blurb,Vengeance is Minetells the story of Gabriel Jaeger, who is brutally executed by three time travelers going to 1664 in search of an old piece of technology that will lead them to a terrible power. In a plot that wouldn’t be out of place in aMetal Gear Solidgame, Charles Jaeger uses the technology to activate the Deacon, a derelict military installation buried under the streets of New Amsterdam. This rallies the people to meet their spiritual leader Robert Wright “beyond the horizon of time and space.” However, Gabriel Jaeger narrowly survives his execution and prepares to wreak his revenge using a prototype HYDRA mech suit, which appears to be shown off during the video.

Vengeance is Minewill be published by 110 Industries and will reportedly feature a time-manipulation mechanic that may function similarly to the more popular bullet-time functions found in some action games. This will apparently allow players to speed up time or slow it to blink toward enemies, readjust combos, or even cheat death.Metal Gearveteran Joosten states that this title is more than just a game, which may suggest that she took a leaf fromHideo Kojima’s notoriously bizarre and creative book.

As of writing, it appears that fans of Joosten’s work are excited about the announcement ofVengeance is Mine. One Twitter user even went so far as to state that Joosten’s presence was enough to get them excited about the game, which may reflect how some ofHideo Kojima’s fans appear to feel about him. Several fans wished Joosten luck on her new project, while another immediately vowed to check it out and a third reported that they couldn’t wait to learn is Minein the future.
