Minecrafthas released yet another free map as part of the franchise’s 15th anniversary celebrations. Created by Oreville Studios, players can download the “15 Year Journey” map for free via the Marketplace,Minecraft’s content storeexclusive for Bedrock Edition players. The map is an in-game “museum” whereMinecraftplayers can check out exhibits featuring notable moments from Mojang’s hit and take part in minigames such as a platform version of the Nether and an Ender-inspired Elytra race. In another puzzle-based challenge, players will have the opportunity to unlock the alpha version ofMinecraft.

Minecraft Celebrates 15 Years with Free Content for Players

The map created by Oreville Studios is part of the sixth of 15 days commemoratingMinecraft’s 15th anniversary, announced by Mojang. Previously, the devsreleased another freeMinecraftmap, this one made by the community’s mapmakers, which also celebrates Minecraft Realms' 10th anniversary. Additionally,Minecraftplayers have a new free avatar item to claim in the Dressing Room of the Bedrock Edition and equip their character with a pair of Toe Guardians slippers, with a design inspired by the aquatic mobs introduced in update 1.8 that guard the ocean monuments.

AlthoughMinecraft’s target audience is younger, Mojang’s sandbox attracts players of all ages, many of whom have followed the game since its first versions. With the end of the 15th-anniversary celebrations, theMinecraftcommunity’s attention will turn to the arrival of the next major update, Tricky Trials, which will drop in mid-2024. Other equally exciting news is thepossible arrival ofMinecrafton Steam, with Mojang bringing its big hit to an even bigger audience.
