Serving as testaments to Larian Studios' incredible programming and design, these areas lend a sense of beauty and gravitas to both the third entry in the series and the dangerous world of theBaldur’s Gate.
6Goblin Camp
At a glance, acamp made specifically for unsightly goblinsseems like a very odd fit for beautiful locations. However, the Goblin Camp west of Druid Grove boasts one of the most scenic waterfalls on offer on the entire map.

Sub-areas such as the Shattered Sanctum further add to the allure and aesthetic appeal of the location, providing players with an intriguing subterranean maze to discover. Along with providing unexpected natural beauty in its landscape, the Goblin Camp region is also a fantastic hub to uncover new objectives and interactions. In turn, it quickly becomes one of the most immersive and important areas players can access in Act I.
5Wyrm’s Crossing
As players traverse the vast and immersive world ofBaldur’s Gate 3, they’ll often come by the grand River Chionthar. To get a full view of the West Heartlands' most vast river, players should check out a staple location of every Baldur’s Gate entry thus far: Wyrm’s Crossing.

Serving as the primary way to enter Baldur’s Gate by land, Wyrm’s Crossing doesn’t offer anything major to players in the new installment of the series. There is little in the way of major quests orexciting weapons to uncover. However, the vast view of the River Chionthar in all its glory, alongside a general view of the Western Heartlands' landscape, makes this an essential landmark not just inBaldur’s Gate 3, but in its predecessors as well. 3The Baldur’s Gate City
The focal location of the series, the city at the heart of the matter is predictably one of the most important and compelling locations on the map. With its towering walls, bustling streets, and colorful populace, the city is the go-to place for all manner of opportunities and quests.

The attention to detail inBaldur’s Gate 3when it comes to bringing this megacity to life on the ninth generation is nothing short of commendable. Richly detailed and textured, the fantastical architecture is visually engrossing, and the narrative depth throughout the area makes it easy to get lost for hours of gameplay. The original and still arguably the best central location of the series, the eponymous city continues toimprove in all areaswith every installment.
2The Moonrise Towers
Rising high above the eerie mists looming over the cliffs of the Sword Coast, the Moonrise Towers provide players with a superb view of the surrounding landscape. From viewing the setting sun over the vast ocean to spotting the mountains in the distance, there is a surprising sense of tranquility to be enjoyed at the top of these ancient towers.

Not only do the Moonrise Towers provide some aesthetic depth to the game’s world, they’re also worth exploring and are important to the overall plot.Ketheric Thorm, the Chosen of the Absolute, uses the Towers as his base of operations, making it an inevitable location to visit. Among the most intriguing places on offer in the Western Heartlands, the Towers tick a variety of boxes in both design and narrative depth.
1Druid Grove
The Druid Groveis one of the most peaceful and sacred areas in all ofBaldur’s Gate 3. The quaint ponds, brightly colored flowers, and old trees all make for a serene, visually striking location for players to explore.
With a variety of curious runes to examine and an underground passage to discover, Druid Grove provides more than just some neat graphical aesthetics. The Emerald Grove portion of the location lives up to its name, providing a spread of greenery that helps jazz up the nature-focused charm of the region. As engrossing as the area is,players still need to be carefulwhen treasure-hunting. There is a locked chest near the Eagle Rune that is trapped and potentially deadly if players don’t take the necessary precautions.
