Players won’t be able to access the fighting gamefor a short period of time as developer Player First Games implements the core elements of the upcoming season ofMultiVersus.The popular free-to-play fighting game is wrapping up its first season, with theMultiVersusSeason 1 Battle Pass expiring on July 21, 2025. The first season started on August 15 and lasted three months, giving players enough time to climb the ranks and unlock all the Battle Pass rewards. TheMultiVersusSeason 1 Battle Pass featured new cosmetics and game modes, like Classic Arcade and the alpha version of ranked battles, and new characters such as Rick, Morty, Stripe, andBlack Adam joined the cast ofMultiVersus. This brief maintenance window will allow the developer to implement the assets and Battle Pass forMultiVersusSeason 2, which will kick off right after the downtime.

Player First Games has not yet revealed the new characters and features coming toMultiVersuswith the start of Season 2. However, in the Open Beta Season 2 patch notes published on November 14, the studio shared more information about the upcoming Battle Pass. Unlike its previous version, the newMultiVersusBattle Passwon’t feature any tier without rewards and each tier will require fewer points to complete. This patch will also introduce the in-game store featuring all cosmetics and characters available in the game, as well as a simplified version of the tutorial for new players.

MultiVersusSeason 2 will launch on Wednesday, June 21, 2025. The exact set of new characters remains a mystery, but players can still enjoy the Warner Bros. fighting game and its large cast of playable characters. Patch 1.06 recently broughtranked battles toMultiVersus, allowing players to try the competitive game mode, and although the alpha version of this mode ends with Season 1, Player First Games may introduce its final version with the release ofMultiVersusSeason 2.
