The first season ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2023)introduces a brand-new act to the story missions ofModern Warfare Zombies- Contact. In this new act, players will continue to explore the ties between the current MWZ story and the events 40 years prior, unfolding through the Zombies modes ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.Aftercompleting the Defeat Zakhaev missionat the end of Act 3 - Confrontation, players will receive a small cutscene showing a dark aether portal appearing, attempting to draw Dr. Jansen into the aether, before the ghostly image of a girl in a white dress descends from the portal, approaches Dr. Jansen, then disappears just as quickly as the apparition appeared.
With such a cliffhanger ending, (and several references/easter eggs in the cutscene for veterans of the series) fans of theCOD: Zombiesseries will be excited to further explore the story ofModern Warfare Zombieswith the fourth act. While there iscurrently only one story mission available in Act 4,players will be able to interact even further with the Dark Aether portal after completing the story mission, gaining access to additional challenges and rewards. dditionally, players can expectadditional MWZ story missionsin Act 4 throughout the year with each play season.
Story Mission
The first story mission of Act 4 will have players travel into the newly spawned Aether Tornado, brewing just on the border of theMedium and High Threat Zones.Players will travel through the Dark Aether portal to discover the new secrets brewing in the Urzikstan mission area. Once the story mission is completed for Act 4, players will be able to freely access the Dark Aether rift to take on additional challenges and earn epic rewards, including Ultra Rare schematics like the Dog Boneand the Golden Armor Plate.
