One of the most popular anime in recent years isMy Hero Academia, the story of young students who go to a school to learn how to become superheroes. This Japanese take on the western superhero genre has become wildly successful, leading to four seasons, a movie, and tons of merchandise, including the 3D fighting gameMy Hero: One’s Justice.
The game was popular enough to warrant a sequel,My Hero One’s Justice 2, which was announced by Bandai Namco Entertainmentback in September. While the studio revealed a short teaser at the time, it gave a vague release date of sometime in 2020.

Today Bandai Namco officially announced thatMy Hero One’s Justice 2will be released on June 18, 2025 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam, and Switch with a revamped story mode, new characters, and new features. Just like the first game,My Hero One’s Justice 2’s story follows the animeMy Hero Academiaand will take place right after the first one ended, starting with the battle between All Might and All For One.
Players will start from there and play all the way through season 4 of the anime, in which the young hero Deku faces off against the new arch-villain Overhaul. Seeing as season 4 still hasn’t finished airing, this is probably part of the reason why fans will have to wait so long to play the game.
My Hero One’s Justice 2will feature many more playable characters than the first game did, including plenty ofnew characters from season 4 ofMy Hero Academia(such as Mirio and Overhaul), as well as old favorites like Bakugo,Froppy, and Eraserhead. One new character, Sir Nighteye, is notable for having the power to see his opponents moves before they happen and react accordingly. It hasn’t been revealed how this will translate gameplay-wise, but it should make him a very interesting character to play as.
Along with all the new characters,My Hero One’s Justice 2will also include a new feature called “Side Kick Plus Ultra.” Basically what it means is that a player’s sidekick can now execute their Plus Ultra attack while in battle, kind of like the assists inMarvel vs. Capcom. This new feature will definitely be something for players to consider when assembling their teams.
The first game, though short, was a fun tag-team fighter that let players switch between three heroes and run around in third person. Being based on an anime about superheroes, fights could get ridiculously over-the-top, with players even being able to run and fight on the sides of buildings if they wanted to.
