In 2021, the popularsports manga seriesBlue Lockteased fans about its prospective release as an anime adaptation by Studio 8bit in 2022. Presently, it appears that the anime will be released sooner than expected with the show’s confirmed premiere date, new, sensational trailer, and character visuals.
In the previous year,Blue lockreleased a trailer, revealing the anime’s character visuals and possible events occurring in the series. In addition, central characters such as Hyoma Chigiri, Rensuke Kuinigami, Yochi Isagi, & Meguru Bachira and their voice actors were also revealed. However, new information fromBlue Lock’s official website starred new cast members & visuals for the incoming series.

Blue Lockanime is based on the manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. On Friday, the 13th of August,the official website confirmedthat the anime is set to premiere on the 22nd of October. Although the particular day hasn’t been specified, the anime will certainly debut in the latter part of the year. The anime would be directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe, a renowned director known for producingHaikyuu!!which premiered in 2014, andKabaneri of the Iron Fortress, in 2016. Filling in the role of assistant director is Shunsuke Ishikawa, a cast member of91 Days, Erased & Moriarty the Patriot.
The supervisor and writer of the story is Taku Kishimoto, a central crew member in the anime production ofDon’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagotoro,Fruits Basket&Gintama. The concept adviser is Yutaka Uemura, the director of popular Isekai anime,Saga of Tanya the Evil. The cast member in charge of character designs and directing animation-related tasks is Masaru Shindo, who was a staff inA Certain Magical Index, Durarara!!andFruits Basket. Other key cast members handling animation and character designs include Kenji Tanabe and Kento Toya. Finally, Jun Murayama, who handled the theme song arrangement ofFate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya Movie: Sekka no ChikaiandRe-Main, will handleBlue Lock’smusic composition.
