Now Wario is at it again withWarioWare: Move It, a new entry that was announced for the Nintendo Switch during June’s Nintendo Direct livestream. Just like 2021’sWarioWare: Get It Together!before it,Move Itfeatures a collection of zany “microgames”for players to complete either by themselves or with a friend in local co-op, with an increased emphasis on motion controls using the Switch’s Joy-Con controllers. There will be over 200 microgames in total, and some of these will pay tribute to other hit Nintendo games of the past like the originalPikminor 1996’s seminalSuper Mario 64.

The official Nintendo of America Twitter account has just offered eager fans a closer look atWarioWare: Move It’s homage toSuper Mario 64ahead of the former’s release on November 3. As shown in a brief video clip, this microgame is patterned after “The Princess’s Secret Slide,” the hidden sliding level inSuper Mario 64. Using the Joy-Con controller, players will have to guide Mario down the slide to collect as many coins as possible by tilting their bodies left and right. The full look ofSuper Mario 64is faithfully recreated, down to the blocky Nintendo 64 graphics.

Those graphics were revolutionary at the time ofSuper Mario 64’s release back in 1996, as it was the first game to bring Mario into the realm of 3D after over a decade of side-scrollers. In this groundbreaking title, Princess Peach’s Castle served as a central hub where players could travel between levels using magic paints. In addition to standardMariocourses, this castle had many hidden secrets for gamers to uncover, such as special bonus stages that could be completed to help Mario gather the Power Stars and unlock the final confrontation with Bowser.

One of thesehiddenSuper Mario 64stageswas “The Princess’s Secret Slide,” a secret sliding course that will be referenced in one ofWarioWare: Move It’s many minigames. The latest in Wario’s series of wacky sub-game collections is packed with colorful tributes to past Nintendo titles, and fans will likely see even more whenMove Ithits the Switch this November.
