Nintendoconsoles, games, and merchandise are inherently collectible, but one Redditor is well on their way to amassing an incredible assortment of items that aren’t as commonly collected: Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers. While most gamers would agree that an extra controller or two is necessary for hit titles likeMario Kart 8orSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate,Nintendo’s Joy-Cons can be pricey, and the fact that each unit can be separated into two controllers means that having extras on hand isn’t always essential – but that hasn’t stopped this gamer.

Although the Nintendo Switch was very well received when it debuted in early 2017, its controllers, innovative as they were, garnered quite a bit of backlash. A significant amount of Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons suffer from stick drift, a quirk that’s now thought to stem from acrucial design flaw on the part of Nintendo. Fixing affected units can be difficult, and replacing them can be expensive. However, these issues don’t seem to trouble Reddit user Dazzling-Original995, who recently posted an image of their impressive Joy-Con collection to the Nintendo Switch subreddit.

In total, nine Joy-Con units can be seen alongside two pro controllers. Most of the user’s Joy-Cons appear to bespecial edition Nintendo Switch console variants; the blue-and-green Joy-Cons from theAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsconsole bundle are clearly visible, as are the yellow and brownish-orange controllers that came with the exclusivePokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu!andPokemon Let’s Go, Eevee!bundles. There’s also what appears to be one half of a controller hidden behind a pro controller and a green Game Boy Color.

All in all, it’s an awesome collection, and, should the value of older Nintendo games and consoles continue to rise over the years, this jumble of Joy-Cons could be very valuable in the future. The assortment is made all the more elegant by somethird-party Switch docksand charging cradles which allow Switch owners to display their systems without partially concealing them in the system’s default toaster-like charging dock.

There are also quite a fewreleases Nintendo Switch owners should be looking forward to in early 2023; fromFire Emblem EngageandOctopath Traveler 2in January and February, to the long-anticipatedThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomin May. Perhaps Dazzling-Original995 has good reason to keep all of these controllers charged and at the ready.
