TheNintendo Switchis home to all kinds of local co-op games, ranging from small indie games to bigger budget titles, including some from Nintendo itself.
In fact, some of theNintendo Switch’s best games support local co-op and multiplayer. For instance, 2023’sSuper Mario Bros. Wonderfeatured extensive co-op support, giving players the opportunity to play through the entire side-scrolling adventure with friends, and it was one of last year’s highest-rated games. New co-op games are added to the Switch library on a regular basis, with fans now having a fresh one to try out.
As pointed out by Nintendo Life, co-op platformerRiver Tails: Stronger Togetheris now available on the Nintendo Switch.River Tails: Stronger Togetherwas first released on Steam at the end of 2023 and earned “Very Positive” reviews from Steam users who were impressed by its local co-op features. There are plans to bring the game to PlayStation and Xbox as well, but for now, those on consoles can only play the game on the Nintendo Switch. River Tails is Now on Nintendo Switch
As far as co-op games go,River tails: Stronger Togethersounds fairly unique. Besides the fact that there aren’t many3D platformerswith co-op support,River Tailstakes an asymmetrical approach. One player plays as a kitten named Furple, while the other plays as a fish named Finn. The characters have their own unique gameplay mechanics, requiring players to work together to overcome challenges and progress through the game. For example, Finn may have to move objects in the water so that Furple can use them.
WhileRiver Tails: Stronger Togetheris clearly built with co-op in mind, there is an option to play single-player as well, for those that would rather go solo. This LoneWolf mode challenges players to control both characters using oneNintendo Switch controller, which is easier said than done, to say the least. Those that want the trueRiver Tails: Stronger Togetherexperience should be sure to recruit a friend for some classic couch co-op. If the Steam reviews are any indication, it should be one of the better local co-op games on the Switch.
