Nintendo has released the latest firmware update for theNintendo Switch. This is the first update since 10.0.0 was put out in April, and while this news may excite fans, there isn’t much to see with this patch.
SomeNintendo Switchgames have been getting interesting updates as of recent. One of Nintendo’s best selling games for the console,Animal Crossing: New Horizons, received a summer update earlier this month that introduced a diving suit to island life, allowing players to swim in the ocean and search the sea floor for catchable creatures. However, the console update is not quite as interesting.

While players are glad to see an update for the Nintendo Switch, there isn’t that much to look at in the patch. According to Nintendo, the 10.1.0 update includes “system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.” This may not be noticeable to the average player, but at least improvements are being made to the system, no matter how small. Nintendo has not released the full patch notes for theSwitch updateat the time this is being written, but it is same to assume that fans will not be seeing exciting new changes with this update.
That being said, there are still new things in store for the Nintendo Switch in this week. While they may not be updates to the gaming system itself, many new Nintendo game releases will be coming out for the console. Retro games such asImmortal,Natsume Championship Wrestling, andDonkey Kong Countrywill be coming out for Nintendo Switch Online on July 15. Along with these classic games,Paper Mario: The Origami Kingwill be released on July 17. Though the game was leaked early online, many fans are looking forward to playing it for themselves.
Though the firmware may not be all that fans were hoping for, there is much to look forward for the Nintendo Switch.Donkey Kong Countryis one of the most famous Nintendo games in history, and to have it on the newest console will make it accessible to more fans of the company that want to play the game.
