Due to a strangeCall of Duty Warzone 2bug, one player received the most unique game intro possible. Despite plenty of players during the launch ofCall of Duty Warzone 2, the game has had its fair share of problems, many of them being the litany of bugs that ravage the game. While some can be described as harmless, others are not so much, with some problems likebad latency causingWarzone 2players to lose killsin-game. However, this bug is a little less harmful, instead just being a silly glitch that is assuredly as bizarre to watch as it was to get.
InCall of Duty Warzone 2, before every game starts there is a small intro that plays showing the player’s character getting ready to leave the plane and enter the match, with any players in the player’s group joining along their walk toward the exit to the plane. Then it transitions to the gameplay, where the player can get off at any point and fall to their destination, so long as any snipers orCall of Duty Warzone’s sadly plentiful aimbot hackersaren’t there to take them out on the way down.

However, for oneCall of Duty Warzone 2player, their intro played out a bit differently compared to other players. Posting to r/CODWarzone, user GamerAgentGold uploaded a clip of their strange intro bug. In the clip, the player’s character is the iconic Ghost fromModern Warfare 2. Everything seems to be going as normal besides some little light glitches, but as the player is walking toward the end of the plane, suddenly Ghost switches into an execution animation where he is grabbing an enemy and stabbing them multiple times with a knife, complete with blood spurting from the nonexistent enemy. Then it transitions to the game, where the player can get off at any moment.
In the comments, while most users were making jokes that this was the character Ghost grappling with his PTSD fromModern Warfare 2, others had a more practical explanation. One user commented saying that it’s possible this occurred when the player was in the middle of an execution animation when the warmup timer ended, causing their animation to occur when the player was given control at the end of the intro. With how many bugs are inWarzone 2like this cursed bug involving the game’s Intervention, it’s not farfetched to believe this could happen.
While the bug is harmless in the grand scope of the game itself, it does show thatWarzone 2is a ways away from being bug-free, and still needs plenty of optimization, which has been a problem for quite some time. WithWarzone 2’s player count decreasing rather rapidly, it seems the team behind it should try and fix some of the major problems listed by the players who prefer the originalWarzoneto its successor.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
