The anticipation for Olivia Wilde’s A-list featureDon’t Worry Darlingis only getting more intense as the release date approaches. However, news of drama behind the scenes is continuing to grow just as fast, and Wilde has finally addressed the speculation about tensions between her and star Florence Pugh.

During a press conference at the Venice International Film Festival Wilde attended byThe Independent, Wilde finally addressed the alleged drama between her and Pugh. Although she is one of the biggest names attached to the film, Pugh was noticeably absent from the film festival while the film’s otherstars like Harry Styles, Gemma Chan, and Chris Pine were all present.

Wilde was asked by a reporter, “Can you just clear the air and address whether there has been a falling out there and if so why, because it’s something that people are discussing?” Wilde responded, “Florence is a force, and we are so grateful that she is able to make it tonight despitebeing in production onDune." Wilde went on to add, “I know as a director how disruptive it is to lose an actor even for a day, so I’m very grateful to her and Denis Villeneuve for helping us – we’re really thrilled we’ll get to celebrate her work tonight.”

This cleared up some speculation, with many believing that Pugh didn’t attend the festival due to conflict with Wilde after it was revealed byactor Shia LaBeoufthat Wilde had some not-too nice things to say about Pugh due to her issues with him on set. This prompted his departure from the production ofDon’t Worry Darling,which LaBeouf claims was on his own terms despite Wilde claiming in the past that she fired him from the film. Wilde went on to praise Pugh’s talents and her gratitude that the actor is a part of the upcoming film.

Although absent from theDon’t Worry Darlingpress conference, Pugh did walk the carpet for the event. Wilde went on to call the alleged feud “invented clickbait” by people online, however, Pugh has yet to address the speculation of a rivalry.

With fans anxiously awaiting to seethe highly anticipatedDon’t Worry Darling, reviews are beginning to roll in. Although mixed remarks have been made in regard to Styles' performance, Pugh has received immense praise. As more press events are scheduled to occur for the film’s release, maybe Pugh will address the speculation about her alleged feud with Wilde.
