Summary
The Final Shape expansion forDestiny 2introduces a ton of entertaining new weapons and exotics to play with, but players have found that one of the new Titan exotic gear pieces is actively suffering from a technical issue that restricts its potential damage output. The considerable variety of new buildcrafting options now available inDestiny 2have considerably shaken up the meta already, though the anticipation of several crucial bug fixes and the addition of even more exotic gear pieces with the launch of Episode: Echoes means that players have much yet to look forward to.
The new Prismatic subclass has taken center stage when it comes to buildcrafting, with owners ofDestiny 2’s The Final Shape expansionnow able to fuse the powers of Light and Dark to wield abilities from all of their subclasses simultaneously. While this power does still have its limits, it allows Guardians to combine their existing abilities in a way like never before to achieve some truly awesome combinations. Players can also take advantage of some of the new exotic armor pieces to get the most out of their new playstyles, as many of these gear pieces synergize nicely with Prismatic.
For Titans, the newHazardous Propulsion exotic chest armor inDestiny 2is a must-have for players who rely on rocket launchers for DPS in boss encounters. Unfortunately, fans have already discovered that this exotic suffers from a bug that limits its damage output in certain circumstances, with a fan known online as Mr_Kitford compiling the damage data they gathered while using the exotic to prove that the Radiant buff actually hurts the damage bonus that Hazardous Propulsion grants to rockets. The core trait of the chest exotic is its ability to load up to six mini rockets which can be fired by activating the class ability. Deploying these rockets grants up to 35% extra damage to all rocket-based weapons, though this value is actually overwritten by Radiant’s lesser 25% extra damage if the buff is active.
Why This Destiny 2 Bug Bodes Poorly For Titans in General
Thankfully, Bungie has confirmed that it’s aware of the issue and is actively working on a fix. ManyDestiny 2players have been upset with the position that Titans are infor some time now, with many claiming the class to be vastly underperforming compared to Warlocks and Hunters. These complaints spawn for a variety of reasons, though the generally underwhelming super abilities available to Titans along with the class' incentivized close-range, “high-risk, no reward” playstyle leaves many feeling like Titans are largely a liability in endgame content.
Perhaps this point was made most evident by the fact that no more than three Titans made an appearance among the top 50 raid teams to completeDestiny 2’s new Salvation’s Edge raidin contest mode, but in any case, most agree that Titans are clearly in need of some love. The Hazardous Propulsion exotic makes a good start, but a bug fix will be required for it to shine.
