This fight has been going on for quite a bit now andOne Piece1087 saw to it and that it reached its climax. In the midst of all the incredible action and heartbreaking flashback that made up the chapter, Oda also revealed some other intriguing bits, such as the bounties of several Marines that are currently in effect. Course, the legendary Hero of the Navy, Garpwas also one of them.

The Cross Guild And Marine Bounties

The Reverie that took place in theOne Pieceworld very recently marked a significant shift in the power balance. The Seven Warlord System was finally abolished and now replaced by none other than the scientific weapons created by Vegapunk, known as the Seraphims. At the same time, some of the Warlords joined hands and ended up creating a new organization that is incredibly powerful, called Cross Guild. The Cross Guild is led by none other than the Genius Jester Buggy, who was given a boundary of 3.189 billion berries. At the same time, Buggy was also officially declared one of the Four Emperors of the Sea.

Other powerful members in the Cross Guild are Crocodile and Dracule Mihawk, both of which are currently under Buggy’s wing. The Cross Guild has made waves in the One Piece world and they are a criminal organization directly in opposition to the World Government. Their goal is to establish a firm grip over the era by creating a force that is strong enough to resist the Navy and, thus, become a safe haven for all the pirates. Buggy, their leader, however, wants to aim for the grand treasure, theOne Piece.

Regardless, the Cross Guild has created several problems for the World Government, and one of them is issuing bounties for Marines. So far, in the world ofOne Piece, only pirates were hunted and the Government issued bounties on their heads, persuading people to hunt pirates down.

Now, the script has flipped it on its head entirely as the Marines now have bounties on their heads as well, meaning they are hunted just as much as the pirates and the Cross Guild pays whoever secures the person. The bounty system in the Cross Guild isn’t as direct as the ones that the Marines use. For instance, the Marines simply put a specific reward on top of someone’s head and this reward is occasionally altered, depending on the circumstances surrounding the particular pirate.

The Cross Guild, instead, places stars and crowns on the heads of different marines. One star is equal to 100 million berries. So, if a marine officer has a one-star bounty, they are worth 100 million berries. Five stars and would indicate a 500 million battery bounty. However, when it comes to a billion berries, they are indicated by crowns. One crown equals a billion berries and so on and so forth.

Garp’s Status In The World

When it comes to Garp, fans already know how big of a phenomenon he is in theOne Pieceworld. In the entirety of the Navy, Garp is the greatest personality to ever exist. He is the Hero of the Marines and he has earned this title for himself through hard work and sheer strength. Garp is the only Marine capable of fighting against the strongest characters in theOne Pieceworld such as Roger, Rocks, and Whitebeard, among others. His rivalry specifically with the Pirate King, Roger, made him one of the most feared Marine officers of all time. To any pirates, Garp was like a demon and this has been confirmed by various characters throughout the story, such as Chinjao and Shakky. It goes without saying that a personality like Garp would have an extremely high bounty on his head.

His rise in fame started onthe day of the God Valley Incident38 years ago in the Grand Line. There, he joined forces with Roger to take down Rocks and succeeded. The Navy, however, gave all credit to Garp, which meant that in the eyes of the world, Garp became incredibly powerful, likely one of the strongest, if not the strongest of all time.

From there onwards, he kept getting stronger and, at the same time, his many clashes with Roger only made him even more famous. Garp has certainly earned his reputation and strength and when taking all that into consideration, it is no doubt that he was given a very high bounty by the Cross Guild, even though this bounty system started at a time when Garp was very old.

Garp’s Bounty

When it comes to the bounty of Monkey D. Garp that was issued by the Cross Guild, the amount has been set to three crowns, which means Garp has a bounty of 3 billion berries on his head. This amount is ridiculously high and is comparable to the bounty that is placed on the heads of the members of the Four Emperors of the Sea by the Marines. If Garp were to fall, the person taking him down would then be awarded a sum of 3 billion berries. This figure is, incidentally, the same that Luffy currently has on his head. This means that Garp is considered to be just as dangerous as Luffy himself, even though he is extremely old at this point.

At the same time, fans also found out the bounties of the Admirals of the One Piece world. Every Admiral of the Marine has a bounty of three crowns on their heads, which equates to 3 billion berries, the same as Garp. While this might be confusing to fans, given thatGarp has a great legend associated with his nameand is likely much stronger than any Admiral seen in the story, it makes perfect sense.

The bounty system of the Cross Guild was established very recently. This isn’t like the bounty system of the Navy, which has existed for quite a long time. For instance, the likes of Roger and Whitebeard likely built up their bounties with time. Their highest bounty remained the same, even if they grew older and weaker. Both Roger and Whitebeard had extremely high bounties at the time of their deaths, even when, in the case of the latter, the strength was obviously veining.

In the case of Garp, the bounty was established when he was already at an old age. Thus, his veining strength was factored in in this bounty. In his prime, Garp’s bounty would have been much higher, closer to 5 crowns, at the very least. Nonetheless, about three crowns is extremely high and just goes to show that even in his old age, he is a force capable of taking on the Emperors of theOne Pieceworld.
