TheOverwatchcommunity has proven to be wildly creative in the past, with fans of the game constantly sharing great cosplays and unique concepts for new hero skins. OneOverwatchfan has continued this tradition of creativity, sharing an incredible replica of Lucio’s Sonic Amplifier to Reddit.
While Lucio and his Sonic Amplifier will get avisual redesign inOverwatch 2, the current look of the weapon has been kept intact with Redditor DDoom3099’s replica. Made for the creator’s friend as a special Christmas present, the perfectly scaled model of the weapon would be the perfect gift for anyOverwatchfan – with Lucio fans in particular likely to be jealous of the design. Adopting the hero’s green and blue color scheme as well as the weapon’s unique ammo cylinder, the Sonic Amplifier mockup is complete with a circular barrel.

While manyOverwatchplayers have been having a great time earning Winter Wonderland skins anddesigning festive skin conceptsof their own for the game’s many heroes, DDoom3099 got into the holiday spirit via the crafting of this special gift. While some commenters quoted Lucio’s signature voice lines and pointed out how hard it must be for Lucio to hold the heavy weapon with one hand, plenty more Redditors focused on just how awesome the fan-made replica turned out to be.
The weapon appears to light up in certain areas whenever the trigger is pulled, making for a Sonic Amplifier replica that looks just as neat as the useful weapon does in-game. Unfortunately, much like oneOverwatchcosplayer’s Mercy wings, it is impossible to make the weapon carry out the same function as the one used by Lucio. With DDoom3099’s friend unable to heal or speed boost players using the power of music, displaying this precious replica on a shelf might be the right idea.
This is hardly the first time Lucio has had an influence on the real world, as the in-universe superstar has proven to be just as popular outside of the game. Not only wasLucio trending on Twitterback in April, but the healer’s Lucio-Oh’s cereal was plucked from theOverwatchworld as well — becoming a Kellogg’s cereal sold in actual stores around North America. With his Sonic Amplifier now existing outside of the game too, Lucio’s influence is certainly spreading.
Players can expect to see Lucio in action again at BlizzConline in February, asa majorOverwatch 2updatehas been confirmed for the special online version of BlizzCon. With moreOverwatchheroes teased recently as well, fans of the hero shooter may be getting some inspiration for new replica ideas very soon.
