Palworld’sSakurajima region is a very peaceful place where players can get lost while admiring the Sakura trees, but don’t get too caught up when the sun settles. Nighttime in Sakurajima could be a disaster waiting to happen, especially with the many powerful nocturnal pals roaming the area.
Of the pals that prefer the darkness,Sootseermay be one that spooks players upon first glance. Its horrifying appearance can be quite off-putting, along with its unpredictable movements and hostile behavior. Should players get caught up in a Sootseer’s line of sight, it may be time to turn the other way and seek refuge before it can launch its first attack.
Where to Find and Catch Sootseer in Palworld
Sootseer Location
While players should be cautious about their movements during the nighttime, Sootseer is really only available in a small portion ofthe Sakurajima location. Luckily, players will be able to unlock a fast travel waypoint directly linked to this spot, known as theMoonshrine Cemetery. The title of this waypoint should be indicative of Sootseer’s personality while leaving the hairs on the back of the neck standing up.
As expected, Sootseer is only available during the night and does not appear at any point while the sun is up. For players looking to isolate these pals and capture them as quickly as possible, it’s worth changing the world settings to allow for longer stretches of night.
Players can also make the daytime last for just a few minutes, extending their playtime in the darkness and giving the best odds at encountering Sootseer.
Sootseer appears to enjoy traveling alone as opposed to in numbers, which makes matters a bit easier when encountering them. Sootseer is a Dark andFire-type pal, making it quite versatile in its number of attacks. A water-type pal to help extinguish its flames will go a long way to help catch Sootseer, otherwise players may get burned in their attempt to tame it.
Sootseer is a favorite to catch from the Sakurajima region as it is usually found alone and there are no hostile characters awake during its exposure. This makes locating and catching Sootseer feel much easier compared to daytime pals.
Sootseer Skills & Work Suitability, Explained
Sootseer is more of a niche pal to have when constructing a team of five, as it’s not particularly strong or defensive for a Dark and Fire pal. Its type combination alone does give it access to some of the more powerful moves, but Sootseer’s overall stat spread is a bit lackluster to take advantage of them. Plus, the Sakurajima region is home to other pals of the same type, which are much stronger by comparison.
It also has a partner skill that feels underwhelming, asGrave Robberis a farming skill meant to harvest Bones. Sootseer has plenty of work utility, but its partner skill is exclusive to the ranch and digging up Bones occasionally. As a Level 1Farming work suitability, the quantity in which it can find those Bones may not feel worth the investment when the item is easily accessible from multiple pals.
Thankfully, Sootseer does have access to other work skills that make it feasible for long-term base work. With aLevel 3 Kindling skill, Sootseer is one of the better pals of its class and can quickly burn up some charcoal or ingot in a pinch. Sootseer also has access to Level 2 Handiwork and Mining and Level 1 Gathering. This sets up Sootseer to keep busy at all times, regardless of the task it’s assigned to.
