Yuuki Mishima is the first non-Phantom Thief to discover the group’s identities, and while he never officially joins the team he quickly makes himself essential by creating and running the online Phan Site. Joker keeps Mishima at arm’s length throughout the rest ofPersona 5 Royal, but there’s no denyinghow important the Phan Site and Mishima’s investigations areto Phantom Thief operations.
Mishima is also essential as a confidant. All his confidant abilities have to do with EXP gain, both for the main party and the backup characters. His first two ranks are automatic, but after that players ofPersona 5 Royalwill need to meet some unusual requirements to improve his confidant rank.

General Information
In the Tarot deck, the Moon Arcana showsa glowing moon looking over two towers, a dog, a wolf, and a crayfish. In readings, the Moon represents deception, illusions, superficiality, and selfishness. A reverse Moon can indicate someone overcoming temptation or deceiving someone else.
Mishima is a nighttime confidant, and he’s available on any day so long as at least three days have passed since the last ranking event. His location depends on the date: when he first becomes a confidant, he spends his time in Shibuya’s Central Street. He then moves to Shinjuku when that hub area opens up,and then to Akihabara when that location unlocks.
Players don’t need relationship points to advance the Moon confidant, and in fact players can’t spend time with Mishima outside of ranking events even after reaching rank 10. However, Mishima is part of the Ryuji hangout options during the Hawaii school trip and the post-festival party on 10/26.

Rank Requirements and Rewards
Players get Moon rank 1 on 5/6, and the reward they get isMishima’s Support. This ability lets backup party members get EXPfor the first time in thePersonaseries. At first, backup members only get one-quarter of the main party’s EXP total.
Rank 2 takes place on 5/8. Players don’t need relationship points and so don’t needa Moon Persona for a same-Arcana bonus, but Mishima responds the best to the optionsany, 1, 2,and1.
To reach higher ranks with Mishima, players must complete Mementos requests. Only certain requests will work, and any requests that involve other confidants don’t count towards Mishima’s total.

The “Special” rank isn’t quite a Mementos request. Mishima is starting to go off the deep end, so the Phantom Thieves go to confront his Shadow as part of the event. No combat occurs, and Joker can go speak to Mishima for the proper rank 7 event the next day.
Aside from Salvation Wish, rank 10 gives players access to Sandalphon, the ultimate Moon Persona. On 3/19, Joker can speak to a maxed-out Mishima to get hisDocumentary Plans.During a New Game Plus run, this item will give players access to all of Mishima’s abilities as soon as the Moon confidant events begin.
