WhilePikminis a cult-classic series to gamers of the millennial era, not everyone was happy about the announcement forPikmin 3 Deluxecoming to the Switch, particularly because the October slot is normally saved for “big” titles likeSuper Mario Odysseyin 2017 andLuigi’s Manion 3in 2019.  Still,Pikmin 3received favorable reviews at the time of its original release, and lovers of the GameCube era of Nintendo are nonetheless excited for the port to the Switch, mainly due to theWii U not reaching successful purchase numbers.

But the timing of the announcement was possibly not just a coincidence.Pikmin 3released for North American players on August 4th in 2013, so it’s quite possible that Nintendo had the announcement planned for this specific date.
