PlayStation has been keeping gamers stocked with games during the coronavirus pandemic. WhileMay’s PS Plus gameshave been a disappointment to some, PlayStation has been giving away a variety of free content, from video games to anime. Now, players have yet another game to try this weekend, and it’s a good one.

Right now, users can play 2016’sHitmanreboot for free through May 3rd, with the Game of the Year edition on sale for $8.99 for players that want to keep it forever. This includes the entire game, offering players hours of content asAgent 47, the series protagonist. While it would be cool to see as a free to keep title, a free trial of the entire game is still a pretty generous offering.

Hitmanwas critically acclaimed upon its initial release, with many critics applauding its open-ended level design, but the game failed to secure an audience in part due to its episodic nature, which saw new content periodically released into the game instead of launching all at once. The model was similar to Telltale’s episodic content structure, but proved unpopular.

Hitman 2has since released, offering more new content for those that desire stepping into Agent 47’s shoes. That game is currently on sale for $17.99, which certainly isn’t a bad price, all things considered. However, the first game is worth checking out first for those that have never played, as it will help determine if players enjoy theunique stealth gameplaystyle in the first place.

It is worth noting that some players have had trouble accessing the content, specifically those that claimed the Paris free content pack. However, there has been a workaround, as noted on ResetEra. Players are able to download each episode individually instead of the entire season at once, which should grant access to the content.

Ubisoft has also been offering free gamesto PC users, along with several other major companies. Most free games have been touted as a way to keep people home during the coronavirus pandemic, though it isn’t entirely clear if that’s the case here. Either way, there’s no real downside to getting free games.

Hitmanis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
