Summary
A talentedPokemonfan has recently created a Mega Evolution for Ledian. Mega Evolutions are fairly popular in thePokemoncommunity, with 48 official evolutions being featured in official games, and countless pieces of fan art inspired by them.
Ledian is a ladybug Bug/Flying-type creature originally introduced inthe second generation ofPokemongames. Ledian evolves from the small Ledyba at Level 18, and it learns powerful moves such as Bug Buzz, Air Slash, and Double-Edge at high levels.
Now, a prolificPokemonfan artist called Matratzfratz has unveiled their newest design: a Mega Evolution for Ledian. Instead of keeping the same type as the original creature, this special evolution is a Bug/Fighter-type, completely changing the concept of a slim, quick ladybug to a more physically strong one, which is also represented in the artwork. Mega Ledian retains the same colors and overall shape as its official predecessor, but it sets itself apart by having some new yellow spots on its body and two boxing gloves with stars.
Mega Ledian Pokemon Fan Art
Matratzfratz often designs new Mega Evolutions. Last month, for example, the artist created fan art depicting aMega Evolution for Forretress. This design stood out because it took the idea that Forretress’ original design was inspired by a fortress to the next level. In the drawing, the Grass/Steel-type Pokemon can be seen using a medieval castle as its armor, as well as having more realistic-looking cannons.
Another noteworthy artwork that Matratzfratz shared with the community recently was aMega Evolution for Sudowoodo. The artist decided to create a new version of Sudowoodo inspired by a real-life tree called the giant baobab, which is very rare and can only be found in Madagascar. The result was an alternative evolution of the Gen 2 critter that had a rounder, shorter body that greatly resembled a baobab tree while still maintaining the most iconic characteristics of the Rock-type Pokemon.
ManyPokemonfans love to come up with unofficial Mega Evolutions, and sometimes they share a full gallery of interesting fan art with the community. An example of this trend was seen recently whenone fan created a gallery of Mega Evolutions, coming up with new forms for three creatures: Ribombee, Magmortar, and Polteageist. Hopefully, thePokemoncommunity will continue to put out these amazing artworks, possibly with even more official inspiration after the upcomingPokemon Legends Z-Ais released in 2025.
