Known as the Pitch-Black Pokemon, Darkrai is a Mythical Dark-type Pokemon that first appeared inPokemon Diamond and Pearl. With the ability Bad Dreams, it can passively steal the HP of enemies that fall asleep in battle. Darkrai can use status-altering moves, such as Dark Void and Hypnosis, to force its foes into a nightmarish slumber. In its original appearances, Darkrai could only be fought and captured after using the Member Card item that was only obtainable via events or through Mystery Gift. However,Darkrai’s encounter inPokemon Legends: Arceuswas more straightforward, as players faced the Mythical monster during the “Darksome Nightmare” quest.
Creating A Paradoxical Nightmare of Pokemon Fan Art
With its flowing white hair and nightmarish stare, Darkrai’s design has remained the subject ofPokemonfan artists for generations. Following their previouswork on a Future Paradox form of Keldeo, a Reddit user named JJonnie set to work on making a Future Paradox form for Darkrai and posted their work on the r/Pokemon subreddit. Keeping with the nomenclature used for Paradox Pokemon found inPokemon Violet, the OP dubbed their latest creation “Iron Singularity” and showed it off with three different poses. Iron Singularity was given the Dark and Electric types, and most of Darkrai’s body shape was kept intact. Compared to the original Darkrai, the Paradox version’s white hair glowed yellow and pink with electricity, and its entire body was covered in dark metal. Furthermore, a black hole was placed in Iron Singularity’s chest.
Iron Singularity’s signature move was called Mighty Pull, which used the black hole in the Pokemon’s body to intensify gravity and ensnare its enemies. JJonnie also included an interesting bit ofPokemonlore, as Iron Singularity’s black hole could be negated by another Paradox Pokemon they designed. TheFuture Paradox form of Hoothoot called Iron Portalcould merge its portal with Iron Singularity’s black hole and effectively cancel each other out by sending them to a pocket dimension.
