APokemonfan drew a cute piece of artwork featuring upcoming anime protagonist Liko along with Sprigatito. The animated series based on Game Freak’s RPG series has been going on for over two decades. ThePokemonanimehas starred Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu the whole run, helping make the two characters incredibly well known among fans of the franchise.
However, Ash recently achieved his dream of being a Pokemon Master, and will soon be leaving the anime. Two new trainers, named Liko and Roy, will be taking his place as protagonists of the animated series along with theGeneration 9 starters. Fans are excited, including one who drew a piece of artwork featuring Liko and Sprigatito.

A Reddit user known as yandette posted an image of a drawing that they drew featuring Liko andSprigatito. The piece shows Liko holding Sprigatito, who is lovingly rubbing against her face. Yandette was able to capture a lot of the smaller details seen on Liko, such as the necklace she wears and the green clip in her hair. The artist stated that they are excited to see her in the new upcoming anime and be able to see her journey.
A number of Redditors have expressed their love for yandette’s artwork, which is being called beautiful and wonderful. One commenter stated that they will miss Ash and Pikachu, but that fans need to remember that there is a future with Liko and Roy up ahead, to which yandette agreed. Another user asked yandette if they will make a comic surrounding Liko, to which the artist answered that they would like to someday, but for now is just looking forward to seeing her in thePokemonanime. The artwork is quite cute and is a good way to look forward to the upcoming animated series.
Even though it has been revealed that Ash and Pikachu will be retiring soon, it was announced that there will be 11 episodes of the anime coming up that will conclude the duo’s journey. From what is seen in the trailer that the Pokemon Company released, characters such as Brock, Misty, and Team Rocket will make appearances, along with some of Ash’s older pocket monster partners. After the 11 episodes, Liko and Roy will take over along with the Paldean starters. Also briefly shown is a ShinyRayquaza, though it was not revealed what the pocket monster’s role will be. Fans can look forward to Liko and Roy seeing their debut in 2023 as they begin a new chapter in thePokemonseries.
The next season of thePokemonanime will begin on July 28, 2025.
