Summary
Minior, Cetoddle, Cetitan, Stakataka, and Blacephalon are all set to debut inPokemon GOover the two-month period ending January 2024, along with a handful of limited-time events, according to a recently surfaced leak. This newly emerged claim suggests Niantic intends to significantly cut down on the number ofcreatures that are still missing fromPokemon GOduring the upcoming holiday season.
The San Francisco-based developer has been adding new species toPokemon GOon a regular basis ever since its popular mobile game first launched in summer 2016. Its next batch of creatures willbring 12 Gen 9 Pokemon toPokemon GOas part of the recently announced Festival of Lights event, which is scheduled to run from November 7 through November 12.
Beyond that, Niantic already planned out the game’s content roadmap until early next year, according to a recent Discord leak spotted byReddit user Infinite-Set-2590. The purported plan starts with a December 5 Falling Stars event that will allegedly introduce Minior to the hit AR game. A two-part holiday event is then said to be starting ten days later, with Niantic supposedly using it as an opportunity to debut Cetitan and Cetoddle, a Generation 9 evolutionary line that’s still missing from the game.
The first part of the holiday event is also set to introduce the shiny Cryogonal, as per the same source. The Generation 5 creature first appeared inPokemon GOin late 2019, but its shiny variant has yet to be released. Anyone who is currently in the process of completingthePokemon GOlevel 45 challengemight hence want to hold off on claiming its rewards; assuming this leak is accurate, the Cryogonal encountered at the end of the challenge will have a chance to be shiny from December 15 onwards.
The second part of the holiday event will supposedly feature a Wyrdeer Raid Day, with the leak also alleging that Niantic is planning KeldeoElite Raids inPokemon GOthroughout the final month of 2023. A new Community Day is also said to be planned for the two-day period ending Saturday, December 16. Based on Niantic’s track record, this event likely won’t star a singular creature but instead incorporate multiple past CDs, not necessarily from 2023 alone.
A more traditional Community Day starring Vanillite is said to be happening sometime in January. The newly surfaced leak also alleges that Niantic is planning to add Stakataka and Blacephalon toPokemon GOas part of another Ultra Beast event taking place in early 2024.
