Similar to a previously-documented glitch that turns one ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s new legendary Pokemon gold, one player has shared the moment that their Miraidon became silver while they were exploring the Paldea region together.Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the latest core-series games in the franchise, have been notorious for the endless bugs found in them by players, not to mention the performance issues which have also been impacting the experiences of many fans.
While this silver-plated Miraidon could be mistaken for a shiny version of the legendary, that’s unfortunately not the case. Following the trend set by the more recent titles in the franchise,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetensures that the two new box legendaries are shiny-locked, and the instances where Miraidon has turned silver or gold are unfortunately just the result of yet another weird texture glitch. Still, players have experienced far stranger bugs across the Paldea regions since the latest games launched, with countless technical issues leading to anything from vanishing NPCs toPokemon Trainers mutating into horrific skeletal abominations.

A Trainer in the Paldea region named Rachelcookie123 on Reddit shared a post featuring their unnaturally-colored Miraidon, including a screenshot of them riding the beast through the snow. Aside for the noticeably done-with-life expression on the Pokemon’s face, Miraidon can be seen covered in an almost total silver coating, which some fans believe results from a texture bug caused by the falling snow in the area. This seems likely, since the famous “gold Miraidon” bug can be replicated when riding the Pokemon through a sandstorm, which has the same color as the gold coating. Several players have also claimed that their ownlegendary ride Pokemon have experienced such texture problemswhen riding through certain weather events.
Koraidon and Miraidon, the two new box legendary Pokemon for theScarlet and Violetgames, serve a creative purpose to fit thenew open-world environment seen in the Gen 9 titles. Aside for being used in battles, these legendary Pokemon also provide the primary method of transport across the Paldea region, with Trainers able to ride them on land, up cliffs, over seas, and even through the air. Of course, these two Pokemon have also been the subjects of more than a few glitches, with perhaps the most hilarious one being their tendency to just up and vanish while the still-visible player continues to ride on them.
Although the majority ofScarlet and Violet’s glitches lead to some fantastically hilarious moments, many players agree that the unpolished feel of the games take a lot away from the experience. With the promise of an upcoming patch and the potential for DLC in the future, many fans are hoping that some of the games' greatest hindrances are addressed in the near future.
