Summary
APokemon Scarlet and Violetplayer developed a team strategy to defeat the Seven-Star Tera Raid boss, Meganium the Unrivaled, in one hit. ThePokemon Scarlet and Violetplayer recorded footage of the Tera raid battle, and they explained the steps they took on social media for otherPokemontrainers to use against the Herb Pokemon.
As the fully evolved form of Chikorita, Meganium is the latest Seven-Star Tera Raid boss to appear inPokemon Scarlet and Violet. Known as the Herb Pokemon, Meganium is considered to be the weakest of the Johto region’s starter Pokemon due to its attack, special attack, and speed statistics being lower than its counterparts. However, this reputation led to memes about Meganium’s viability as a wall in Pokemon battles. In its Seven-Star Tera Raid battle, Meganium can use Reflect, Light Screen, and Curse to bolster its defenses and attack with Body Press. These moves, along with Bulldoze, Zen Headbutt, and Seed Bomb, can make Meganium the Unrivaled a tricky foe.
Due to Meganium’s type weakness,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers have developed ways to exploit it usingcompetitive Dark-type Pokemon. Among the various tactics, one player shared one that took down Meganium the Unrivaled in one hit. A Reddit user named AKssbu shared a 29-second clip on the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit of the team they used to take down the Herb Pokemon. AKssbu used two Umbreon in supporting roles, with both using Screech in the first turn to sharply decrease Meganium’s physical defense. Another supporting Pokemon, Medicham, used Taunt to prevent Meganium the Unrivaled from using Curse to boost its attack and defense stats in exchange for lowering its speed. On the second turn, one Umbreon used another Screech, while the other had Helping Hand ready. Medicham followed up its Taunt with a Skill Swap for the ace Pokemon of AKssbu’s team.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: How To Beat Meganium In One Hit
The raid’s main star wasSingle Strike Style Urshifu, a Dark and Fighting dual-type Pokemon. Urshifu used Swords Dance on the opening turn as a setup. With Medicham’s Skill Swap, Urshifu was given the Pure Power ability to buff its attack stat. A Helping Hand from Umbreon was the final enhancement to strike down Meganium with Wicked Blow. Given that Wicked Blow is a guaranteed critical hit inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, the Dark-type attack ignored Meganium’s Reflect.
As foreach Pokemon’s held items, AKssbu said that Urshifu had a Life Orb, each Umbreon had a Zoom Lens, and Medicham had a Covert Cloak. With Meganium around until April 7, and another round from April 11 to 14, only time will tell what other strategiesPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers will share.
