The Indigo Disk is the second of two DLC expansions forPokemon Scarlet & Violetand picks up right where the first one left off. Released in December of 2023, the DLC brings scores of Legendary Pokemon back into the fold, while also introducingPokemon Scarlet & Violetplayers to a few new ones of its own.
Given its relatively high price tag when compared to some of theother great DLC releases in 2023, prospective buyers will probably be wondering whether Indigo Disk is worth the cost of admission. Given how subjective reviews can be, some may prefer to know the expansion’s length before deciding whether or not to buy it.
How Long Does it Take to Beat The Indigo Disk? (Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC Length)
It will take most players somewherebetween four and a half and five and half hoursto complete the main story of Indigo Disk (4.5 - 5.5 hours). However, unlike its predecessor, Indigo Disk packs in quite a lot of post-game content, with a whole bunch ofreturning Legendary Pokemonavailable after the end credits are done rolling. As such,players can expect to get at least eight hours out of Indigo Disk in total; longer still if they plan to fully complete the Pokedex.
How Does Indigo Disk Compare to Teal Mask?
The main story ofIndigo Disk is about 50% longer than Teal Mask, which clocks in at around three to four hours. There’s also much more to do after finishing the main story, making it the better of the two expansions by some margin. That said, both are highly enjoyable and go some way to redeeming the poor technical performance ofPokemon Scarlet & Violet. Even if that weren’t the case, players will need to complete the Teal Mask before they can start playing Indigo Disk anyway, making it something of a moot point.
Is Indigo Disk Worth the Money?
As far asPokemonexpansions go, Indigo Disk is about as good as they come. It has a little bit of everything, from challenging trainer battles to a whole bunch of new and returningMythical and Legendary Pokemon. Being the better of the two expansions, it makes The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero a far more compelling proposition and should help to draw in casual fans rather than just hardcore series veterans. Those looking for something to keep them busy during the festive period could certainly do a lot worse.
