Once you’ve started collecting badges inPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, you’ll want to know which ones to equip and which ones to leave in the storage. Badges can be worn by Mario and can potentially give him special Jump or Hammer moves. Using these moves will cost Flower Points (FP), and equipping a badge will cost Badge Points (BP). On your firstThousand-Year Doorplaythrough, you’ll want to grab the Power Bounce badge. Fortunately, it’s very easy to find, and you can get it within the first chapter. As its name indicates, wearing this badge will allow Mario to use Power Bounce, which is a move that continues to inflict damage on an enemy as long as you don’t fail the button commands.

There’s ared ? blockin the middle of the room. Strike it from below to get the Power Bounce badge. Power Bounce is a useful badge to use against Hooktail, and it can clear away normal enemies in just one turn… if you manage to time your attacks correctly.
How to Use Power Bounce
Power Bounce Timing, BP, and More
Power Bounce requires3 BP to equip. If you’re level 1, then Mario will only have 3 BP max. This number can increase byleveling up and choosing the BP block. Depending on the other badges in your possession, you may want to have other badges equipped (such as Multibounce or Power Smash) as well as Power Bounce. If this is the case, you’ll want to at least increase BP by one stage (3 BP to 6 BP).
To use Power Bounce, you select the Jump action in combat, then choose Power Bounce. When selected,Power Bounce will consume 3 FP, and Mario will jump over the enemy. You will need to tap A-button just as Mario lands on his foe. With each jump, it’ll be more difficult to time your attack. Power Bounce will continue so long as you don’t fail the action command.
You can use Stylish Moves during Power Bounce by tapping A-button at the top of Mario’s jump.
If you’re able to getmore than one Power Bounce badge, you canstackthem and potentially increase their Attack power. On the downside, having more than one Power Badge equipped will require more FP to use.
Other badges you may want to pair with Power Bounce arePower PlusorPower Rush. Power Plus increases the power of Mario’s Jump or Hammer attacks by 1, and like Power Bounce, it can stack. Power Rush increases Attack by 2, but only if Mario has 5 HP or less, making it riskier.
