After a hiatus in 2020, E3 is back this year as a free, all-digital event. Serving as the first E3 presentation after the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S release, it is exciting to see all the new games in development or set to release soon. Although Sony is once again ditching E3 this year, other major video game developers will be present at the eventwith the promise of games that will push the boundaries of the industry.
Among the many companies scheduled to make presentations at E3 2021 is Capcom. In a tweet posted earlier this month,Capcom promised to reveal exciting news on several of its popular games, includingResident Evil Village, Monster Hunter Rise, Monster Hunter Stories 2,andThe Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. But, of course, Capcom fans would know that the studio is no stranger to revealing surprises at E3, and here are some predictions of what other games the studio could show at E3 2021.

Resident Evil Village VR and Re: Verse
AlthoughResident Evil Villageis included in Capcom’s E3 lineup, many believe that the studio is announcing DLCs. While a DLC forResident Evil Villageis inevitable, Capcom is likely planning to include VR support for the game. It is worth noting thatResident Evil Village’spredecessorResident Evil 7, has a VR version, which took home the Best VR Game at 2017’s The Game Awards. Similar toResident Evil 7, Resident Evil Villageis also played from a first-person perspective, making it a great game to play in VR.
Resident Evil Re: Versewasn’t included in Capcom’s lineup for E3 2021, though the studio may provide players an update on the multiplayer game. For the uninitiated,Resident Evil Re: Versewas supposed to release alongsideResident Evil Village, butCapcom decided to delay it to Summer 2021. If Capcom mentions Resident EvilRe: Versein its E3 presentation, it will likely be a release date announcement.
Resident Evil 4 Remake
Ever since Capcom remadeResident Evil 2and3in 2019 and 2020, respectively, fans have been speculating whichResident Evilgame Capcom will reimagine next. Initially, many thought it would beResident Evil Code Veronica, which takes place immediately afterResident Evil 3. However, if leakers are to be believed, Capcom’s next remake should beResident Evil 4. Unfortunately, theResident Evil 4remake remains unconfirmed, though Capcom did mention a VR version soon. However, if Capcom does confirmResident Evil 4 Remakeat E3 2021, it would certainly be the highlight of the studio’s presentation and would finally put rumors to rest.
Dino Crisis Remake
Although theDino Crisisfranchise never lived up toResident Evil’ssuccess in its 25 years, some fans are still hoping that Capcom would re-activate the dormant franchise. At this point, fans have begged Capcom to remakeDino Crisisfor years now, and while the studio did tease that it is not impossible, nothing concrete ever came out about it. Although a remake forDino Crisisremains highly unlikely, there is a small chance that Capcom could do it, especially since there is a growing hype for dinosaur-based media generated by the upcomingJurassic World Evolution 2video game and movie calledJurassic World Dominion.
Street Fighter 6 and Dragon’s Dogma 2
Lastly, other Capcom franchises such asStreet FighterandDragon’s Dogmacould appear at the studio’s forthcoming E3 presentation. While not confirmed, it is worth remembering thatthe huge Capcom leak last yearmentionedStreet Fighter 6andDragon’s Dogma 2. The leaked development plans for Capcom mentioned thatStreet Fighter 6is slated to release in Q3 of 2022, whileDragon’s Dogma 2is scheduled for Q2 2022. Granted that these leaks are legitimate, E3 2021 would be the perfect place for Capcom to announce them.
In the end, it remains to be seen which games could make a surprise appearance atCapcom’s E3 presentation on Monday. Details about what exactly Capcom would reveal on games included on its lineup remains a mystery, so it could be anything at this point. For now, players should wait and tune in at Capcom’s E3 presentation on June 14th to see what the studio has in store for the future.
