Though Ubisoft has only introduced the game idea to the public in February,Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Timehas come far in its production. While it was originally planned to be playable in certain locations during Spring 2020, it seems that thecoronavirusdelayed its release. However, Ubisoft has given fans a new trailer with a glimpse of what they can expect to see from the game.
When fans discovered a newPrince of Persiagame was in the works, they were delighted. This is the first installment in the series in about a decade, and fans of the franchise have been wanting to see another game for a while. WhileThe Dagger of Timeisn’t like the other games in thePrince of Persiaseries, it creates a new approach as a virtual reality escape room as the franchise enters the current decade.

The new trailer was posted onYouTubeon August 10. In the video, four players are working together to delve deeper into a temple. The hallway around them is crumbling, and pillars begin to collapse around them. One of the people in the party runs ahead, and it appears as if he’ll be crushed.
However, the player that the trailer’s perspective is being filmed from raises the dagger of time, halting the pillar’s fall while lifting it up and repairing it. The four continue past the pillar to the center of the temple, and after touching what appears to be a large hourglass, they are enveloped in a bright light. In reality, they take off their virtual reality headsets and congratulate each other.
The new game will debut in select locations around the world, showing off the escape room game in places where people can go through physical escape rooms or play arcade games with friends. There is currently no new release date for the game, asUbisoftis likely waiting for the coronavirus pandemic to calm down before releasing a game that can currently only be played in public places.
While many fans are disappointed that this game isn’t like others in the older franchise, some are hoping that this will be the gateway to morePrince of Persiagames that fans are used to in the future.
