Red Dead Redemption 2welcomes its players to an expansive world that’s set during the decline of the Wild West. With players stepping into the shoes of bothArthur Morgan and John Marston, they can explore the US while living out their wildest cowboy dreams. From gathering meat for the camp to hunting down outlaws across states, the world is free for players to explore. Throughout the course ofRed Dead Redemption 2, the characters become more fleshed out, with small moments in between monumental events that ultimately progress the narrative. With this in mind, a player has captured some dialogue by Arthur Morgan that they weren’t necessarily expecting.
After playing throughRed Dead Redemption 2a total of 11 times, Reddit user casperdacrook captured footage of Arthur Morgan humming and singing an original tune. This is the first time they have heard Arthur singing despite having over 500 hours of gameplay under their belt, showing how rare the dialogue is. Infused with his signature vocal gruff, some of the lyrics are indecipherable, coupled with the sounds of nature and Arthur’s horse providing supplemental noise. However, some of the words pertain to Stillwater, mining in California, and an ending line where he proclaims, “for which I will be sorry until my dying day,” a possible nod toArthur’s fate inRed Dead Redemption 2. The clip runs for only 46 seconds before it cuts after Arthur’s final line in the song.
Despite casperdacrook encountering a moment where Arthur Morgan hums a tune only after playing through the game multiple times, Reddit user DrCarabou claimed that this singing happens all the time in their playthrough. Other commenters seem to have only heard the song via this video from casperdacrook, as there doesn’t appear to be a way to specifically trigger the song. It’s perhaps one of therareRed Dead Redemptionmomentsthat either happen or don’t, coming down to luck.
Regardless of whether players get to experience this musical moment on their first or eleventh try, it’s great to see that aRed Dead Redemption 2story playthrough can be unique for every player. There are many scripted moments in the game that can be found outside the main story, and hearing Arthur sing can be a treat for players lucky enough to encounter it.
