AHogwarts Legacyfan has made a suggestion online that would be a huge quality-of-life upgrade for gear in the game. While many players are loving Avalanche Software’s title, the fan base continues to make suggestions where possible, like addingNew Game+ forHogwarts Legacy.
The game has overcome an extremely rocky pre-launch period, withHogwarts Legacyselling over 12 million unitswithin two weeks of release. It’s a desperately-needed hit for theHarry Potterfranchise, which has struggled of late after the failure of theFantastic Beastsfilm franchise. Creator J.K. Rowling’s comments on the transgender community have not helped matters either, with many feeling her name is so attached to the franchise that they can no longer enjoy it.

The suggestion was posted to Reddit by user Davey716, and proposes a way for players to lock their outfit skins. Currently,Hogwarts Legacydoes have a transmog system that allows players to use the appearance of one item and the stats of another, but this suggestion would allow players to lock the appearance so they don’t have to reapply it with every new piece of equipment found. The Redditor claims they’ve “had to reapply it about 100 times so far,” and it would certainly be a small-yet-important change if it were to be added to the game.
Hogwarts Legacyhas plenty of outfitsthat allow players to live out their wildest Wizarding World dreams in the game. The dedication to customization has been a particular area of praise for the game, so it’s surprising that an outfit lock isn’t already an option available to players. Fans in the Reddit thread were quick to agree with Davey716, with one player proposing the idea of outfit sets that the player would be able to save and use. There are a number of different solutions Avalanche Software could use to tackle this small issue, and hopefully the developer decides to do something about it.
It remains to be seen if the game will see more outfits added for players to experience further customization. WhileAvalanche Software claims no DLC is in development forHogwarts Legacy, the strong financial and critical success of the title means this plan could change quickly. The game has largely moved past its pre-release controversies, and DLC would likely be welcomed by the huge number of fans that have enjoyedHogwarts Legacysince its release.
Hogwarts Legacyis now available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming April 4 and the Switch version launching on July 25.
