The seventh installment of theResident Evilseries features Ethan Winters, trapped in an isolated house in the bayou with the sinister Baker family. Each chapter holds new horrors, and new clues to figuring out the mystery of the Baker house.
At the start ofResident Evil 7’sfifth chapter, Ethan will discover that Zoe has been taken as well as Mia, and will have to follow the instruction of Jack Baker’s son, Lucas, to get them both back. The first step in this process is unlocking the door to Lucas' testing area by finding a red and blue key card, hidden in the main house.

Acquiring the Snake Key
After acquiring the D-series arm from Eveline’s bedroom, players will return to the trailer, where they will receive another phone call, this time from Lucas. The conversation will end with Lucas instructing Ethan to check the fridge, where a gruesome clue will direct players toward thedissection room where the red dog headwas found. Players will encounter a variety of molded as they make their way through the morgue, so be prepared.
In the dissection room, Ethan will find the dead body of the police officer who attempted to assist at the beginning of the game. Interacting with the open wound on his neck will give players the Snake Key. With it, players can now unlock the snake door shortcut back towards the entrance of the processing area and to the second floor of the main house More molded will have spawned in the morgue, processing area corridors, and the main house, so use anycrafting materials to stock upon ammo before leaving the dissection room.
The Blue Key Card
After returning to the second floor, head to the west wing and use the Snake Key to enter Lucas’s bedroom. Several notes around the room provide deeper insight into Lucas, as well as clues towards a secret switch hidden in the room. Players will find the switch on the desk, under a lamp that has been fashioned from an old trophy. The switch will drop a ladder leading to the attic. Be sure to grab the herb in the vase to the right of the ladder.
In the attic, a cabinet can be opened immediately to the frontto find the “Happy Birthday” tape. Behind Ethan to the right is a shelf with a model toy ax and shotgun. In the middle of the room, players will find another silhouette puzzle. Once the piece is rotated, thedollhouse on the wall will open up and reveal the blue key card.Grab the key card and the strong chem fluid on the metal shelves next to the light projector, then head back to the main hall.
The Red Key Card
Back on the second floor of the main hall, use the snake key to enter the master bedroom. Inside, Grandma Baker will be in her chair, watching players as they explore the room. Open the top drawer of the dresser in front of her to find a herb, and the lockbox on the dresser to her left to find a lock pick. In the closet, Ethan can find atreasure photo on the stool to the left.
While exploring this area, players will find an antique clock on the nightstand, with a note pinned to the globe beside it saying “same time as all other clocks.” Check the grandfather clock in the main hall to determine the correct time. Interact with the antique clock and rotate the arms to set the time.
Once the correct time has been set, the bed will move to the side and reveal a hidden staircase to the workshop in processing. Among the horrific creations suspended in the room, players will find the red key card on themain work table in the middle of the room,as well assome enhanced handgun ammoin the metal cabinet against the wall to the right when entering the room. Players can now return the key cards to the yard and insert them into their corresponding lock to progress to the Testing Area.
