While past live-actionResident Evilmovies have not been well-received by critics or fans, the upcomingResident Evilmovie reboot looks promising. Official details on the newResident Evilmovie are difficult to come by, but set photos have given fans a pretty good idea of what they can expect from the film. The latest batch ofResident Evilmovie set photos suggest that the movie will be adapting at least some of the events depicted in the firstResident Evilgame.
While most of theResident Evilmovie reboot set photoshave focused on imagery and locations fromResident Evil 2, like the Raccoon City Police Department and Emmy’s Diner, the new set photos seem to represent locations from the first game in the series. The images, taken from the Instagram pages of people working on the movie, show a dark forest and a helicopter, both of which played a role in the beginning of the firstResident Evilgame.

The firstResident Evilgame starts with the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team arriving in the Arklay Forest via helicopter as they search for the missing Bravo team members. While investigating the forest, Alpha team is attacked by a pack of vicious zombie dogs.Helicopter pilot Brad Vickersflies away in fear, leaving the team stranded and forcing them to take shelter in the nearby mansion.
The dark forest setting and the helicopter certainly seem to suggest that the movie will be adapting at least some of theResident Evil 1story, which is a relief for fans who were worried that the new movie series was going to skip straight toResident Evil 2. However, it still remains to be seen how accurately the newResident Evilmovie will present the series storyline. So far, the only S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team members that have been cast in the movie areAlbert Wesker, Chris Redfield, and Jill Valentine, so it’s possible that the movies will leave out some important characters.
Meanwhile, video game Facebook group GlitterGunzzGaming claims that theResident Evilmovie reboot has been filming using a “man made tunnel carved into a rockside.” Whether or not this is true remains to be seen, but if so, it could hint that theResident Evilmovie reboot will feature some of the underground tunnels from the firstResident Evilgame. And in fact, that may be where the film’s heroes encounter theterrifying Lisa Trevor.
Until theResident Evilmovie rebootis far enough along to get an official trailer, it will be hard to determine how exactly it will adapt the games. It seems to be adapting bothResident Evil 1and2simultaneously, but exact details have yet to be revealed at the time of this writing. Fans will need to standby for more information.
